44mm Question
Taking a deep breath as I type this as it's probably not a good path for me to go down - Monetarily speaking.
I recently I searched Vegas for a 44mm to try on my wrist (any metal) just for a feel. Again no AD in my area. We have seen some beautiful images of the RG and FC versions here lately - IMO both breathtaking and special in their own ways. With all of the great images lately I feel I have a good idea for what they look like and how they "play" in different lights. Personally I LOVE the balance of the RG and the different black colors on the watch. I feel both would be awesome additions. My question is regarding the Stainless Steel version... Wondering if anyone could post images or describe the dial and it's coloration. On the AP website seems simple - sub dials look matte black. In some images I have seen the sub dials and "ring" of the dial come off like a dark navy? Just wondering anyone's feelings regarding the SS version who have handled it in person. When it comes right down to it, I am wondring if I should wait until I can handle the 44mm in person or just go "sight unseen" and drop the hammer? |

Drop the hammer. Do it. You won't be disappointed.
I'm most certain you will love it. If not some other person would be happy to adopt it at a price here on TRF |

Its my other favorite SS AP besides the Diver. Hands down. I was able to try it on in NYC where they had all three 44mm at the boutique
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=249753 I just had a thread for pics because I do not see many on TRF either!

I have a feeling you will be seeing a few here next week
SS to me is a great balance between RG and FC. What I really love about all three is that they each have their own personality. What are thinking SS? PS - I have bought all 44mm's sight unseen (not for everyone, but can be done without worry) |

Thanks for the input guys...
Thomas that does look great and if I remember correctly we have about the same size wrist. The size seems to fit nice as well. Looks like they fit a little bit "lower" like a Diver? |

Thomas: I never seem to learn this (mainly because I hate most "deluxe" jewelry stores), but I recommend you try on the watch before you decide. Wrists of the same circumference may be shaped differently. My wrist is 7.5" but it's round and the ROO looks too big and tall (unlike PAM that looks big and flat) although it settles well on it. Also you should consider the look of the watch on your wrist. The ROO is (or was until Hublot did it's bang up thing) a unique form--the Mayan pyramid of watches. You should look at it on your wrist from various angles. I think part of the pleasure of owning a watch is in the selection and purchase. Considering the price of an ROO it may be worth making a holiday of a weekend and visit a city with an AD. You might even hook up with a Rolex Forum member there and make it social as well. Then you will have happy memories of the selection and purchase to go with the nice watch. Just a thought. RC |

Yes I'm about 6,5-6,7 and it does wear almost exactly like he Diver, more flat to the wrist.

Will have 3 44mm's this week and it fits perfect on a 6.5 wrist. If you want to feel more comfortable the short strap is amazing or XL if you need that. Great watch!!!

Thanks Thomas.
Thanks Paul. My wrist is just over 7 inches - so good to hear. Just planned another trip to Vegas in a couple of weeks so hopefully I can run into one there...if not I may just follow Paul's lead... take the plunge and go sight unseen... All of them are really great looking! |
