From the sock drawer my only ROO
Hi All:
After years of staying away from watches why did I think I wanted a 5513? Boredom perhaps, but I'm delighted to happen upon Rolex Forum and the generosity of participants in the Vintage Rolex section. Initially, I was surprised to find an AP adjunct and hoped to avoid temptation, but trespass seemed destined as ruin is inevitable. Thanks to bantering here I dove into my sock drawer and dug out my old RM only to have the strap break after a few days. I admit the incident, always in retrospect, was more amusing than embarrassing. While amidst the lyles, argyles and gym socks I found and decided to dust off the old ROO and take a couple of snaps to share herein. Best wishes. RC |

*Drool* fantastic watch. You should take it out of the sock drawer more often!

Thanks for asking. I have a couple of other APs amidst the lint. I will dig them out, photograph and post, but they will probably disappoint. My wrist is small and rounded so ROOs look big on it. My other APs are conventional cased watches, but I like their "vintage" character--I'm imagining people reading this and thinking, "Uh oh, please don't post tiny watches that only die hard collectors would care about." Wonder how I could make them seem "interesting"?

Thank you everybody for the encouraging comments. Such a great forum!
The EOD was an early LE AP did for charity. I was impressed that AP, at that time in partnership with Arnold Schwarzenegger (or should I correct that to Professor Schwarzenegger of USC?), would bother to issue LEs with proceeds benefitting charity (specifically athletic programs for inner city kids). AP has continued to issue LEs for good causes including my favorite, the serene looking Ginza 7. Enjoy your day. Must clean up the place for Sunday guests. RC |
