Please help with this GMT

Hello guys i have been looking to add a vintge piece for my self to the humble collection that i have. I particularly like the GMT Pepsi at the moment. I am looking to learn more about the different version of the Pepsi. Is it important to have a full set. What do you guys think of the below GMT

i think that the 1675 pepsi is a beautiful watch and i love the watch in the link, and yes it is always good to have a full set for two main reasons in my opinion, it brings up the value of the watch if you ever want to sell it in the future, and it gives(at least for me) added piece of mind when purchasing the watch that it is 100% geniune.

The watch appears to be in very nice condition. It appears to have a replacement band which wouldn't be a deal breaker. Nice 1675 GMT's are bringing $5000 to $5500. Ones with the complete lot to include warranty paper are 20%-25% higher.

Unmolested and original GMT's are substantially higher.

That looks like a superb example. Great shape and excellent patina

Looks like a nice one.

Don't get too hung up on papers though etc etc. There are few "previously respectable" dealers with access to fake punched papers. Really makes it hard for legit complete sets to get what they deserve on the open market.

Always buy the best WATCH you can afford. You can't wear a box or papers.

why do you say to be careful when importing from HK to the US (or Canada for that matter)?

Anyone had experience with this?

trademark infringement when importing Rolex into the US, only Rolex USA can import Rolex watches into the US

try do it as a private individual and their grim IP lawyers will be calling you

It is a great gmt. I had a few 1675, but moved to 16750. Just felt the 1675 was too fragile. Especially when looking for a nice piece.

If you are looking for a beater it is a great option, but price wise I like the quick set of the 16750

Rolex/Customs have import restrictions on Rolex watches. I have spoken to paypal and they say this is not true, but it is definitely the case. Anything imported Rolex into the US you run the risk of loosing it.

Has nothing to do with HK more to do with import of Rolex into US

I wonder if its the same deal with Canada...

If the package is marked at a low value and not described as Rolex, does that minimize the probability of it being "found"?

import into canada seems to have a lower level of risk. my advice is to buy within your country. less people handling the box. potentially smaller distances. potentially better buyer recourse. better insurance.

i have imported 4 to date and did not lose any to the issues above. however, there are enough reliable tales out there to believe it. when you buy through the mail, you get a discount. i view this discount as the monetary value of hte risk of buying sight unseen. if you cannot afford to lose it entirely, dont buy by mail. however, i have had great luck. i started small and built up a bunch of big savings. i am now ok if i lose one in the future.
