Miners Rolex Story.....

Got some time on my hands so here we go..

Bought my first Rolex when I left South Africa, there were big restrictions on at the time regarding how much cash you could take out so I spent my last $$ on a Rolex. I went looking for a sub but nothing available so I got this:

GMT, this old girl stayed on my wrist for 10 years, came off once for a service. Brilliant timepiece and when I go I will be wearing this.

Move on 10 years, new life in Australia and finally I can get my grail, looked at a sub and fell in love with this..

Oh boy what a watch, tough as.. This watch goes to places I can't. Happy yes for a while.. Then I joined TRF and the wheels started to fall off

First it was leather so I tried this..

Explorer on a leather strap. Hmmm ok at the time but I got smitten by the Pam bug so..

then

Leather Big time

Then drifted off the tracks (BIG DRIFT)..

Back on track but still with RTF and being corrupted big time, lots of talk about chronos. So off to Zenith did I go...

In the mean time I was still Rolex at heart so I got this

And here's where the story ends (for now anyway). Of all the beautiful timepieces I have this one is it, the fit, the ceramic dial, the WATCH..

Cheers Chaps Have a great weekend.

Wow look at all those watches you have had! No sub in there, so you are not done yet!

Cool Rolex story!

But what in the world went on in your head when you bought that Invicta?

Oh and I left this one out because I'm not sure if it's a watch or a part of a divers weight belt..

Lovely trip down memory lane miner! I don't think I knew you were from South Africa originally like me!!! Nice to have another on TRF!

Do you still have the other Rolexes besides your GMT II - C?
