Have you ever found...?

Have you ever got so lucky in your life to have found a Rolex or any time piece, at let's say an antique store, garage sale, estate sale, or any place out of the ordinary?

Myself no.

Buddy at work found a Breitling once. He had it serviced and wears it daily. That never happens to me!

That and a 1959 Les Paul would be nice to find at a garage sale, and to have
the seller have no idea what they are worth:)

WOW. That was a terrific find. I love watching the storage wars shows. It sounds like fun but a bit too risky for me. With my luck I would fine someone's finger in a drawer !

My friend at the local antique jewelry shop told me that his nephew found a Patek Philippe at a garage sale and gave the woman $20 for it. It cost him over $2,000 to get it fixed and in working condition but it was a good one from the 80s and worth over $20,000. Great find I would say.

Ya it is risky but lots of fun.if you like gambling it's fun cause you never know what will find.i wouldn't mind finding a finger if it had a big fat diamond on it,hahaha.storage wars is a great show but the other storage shows are way to scripted for me.

Went to the Great Yorkshire Show when I was 11, found a ladies gold watch in the mud. Took it to the police tent and handed it in. Turns out it was a Vacheron and the grateful owner sent me £100 as a reward, this was the late 70s so I was chuffed.

I think that's in poor taste. You should be honest with the person selling it and let them reap the rewards.

Everyone complains on here about an AD selling NOS...but they'll turn around and screw over someone at a yard sale.

Booooo!

Glad to hear you gave it back to its owner, great gesture!

A friend at work knew I collected watches and mentioned to me that his wife sorted donated watches at the loacal Salvation Army thrift store. He asked if I wanted to look through the bag of watches she was sorting that week to see if there was anything I was interested in. I said "sure" and the next day he brought in a bag of about thirty watches. Most of them were complete junk, but toward the bottom of the bag I found a vintage Seamaster bumper auto from the mid 1950s, steel case, with applied gold indices on a creamy coffee colored dial. It needed some work, and wasn't running, but I thought I'd take a shot. "How much for this one?" I asked.

"They're all $2 each" he said.

I had my wallet out so fast, I almost put my arm out of place. I spent about $75 getting the Seamaster fixed up, but it was a very nice dress watch when I got done with it. I later sold it for about $150, so I did alright...

OMFG, that's insane! Why doesn't stuff like that happen to me...

The only thing I found once was a $20 dollar bill on the ground.
