When I think of the upcoming service of my SS Daytona ( ~ 1,200 USD), I can't sleep!

After I get my next (and ultimate) grail - the RG Daytona - I'm going to lay low for a while. But quit altogether - never really thought about it. I always plan on making more money, so probably a portion of my excess cash will go to watches, but I definitely won't go overboard. I'm pretty conservative about spending money.

I've certainly stopped buying due to other responsibilities, got married/bought a house-renovations/landscaping all in the past 6 months, but I don't think I'll ever stop for good.

I've thought about selling my whole collection once and get myself one and only Patek Philippe or Jaeger-Lecoultre in gold...

...Believe me, taking a look at their prices helps a man to sober up! Needless to say I've changed my mind!

In all seriousness I'm not thinking about selling my DJ anytime soon.

DO NOT do it you WILL regret it. Every time I have traded, sold, or given one of mine to a friend I have totally regretted it. But giving one to my best friend was the least painful.

I can quit drinking coffee. I quit buying products with High fructose corn syrup. But I will never quit wearing a ROLEX.

Sounds like there may be more reasons driving these thoughts... only for you to know and consider. Either way, you have a great time piece, or you can always get another.

My watches are a source of pleasure for me and I have no need to sell them at this time, so they will stay with me.

I think I'm done buying new watches, as I'm very pleased with the ones I have and I do have other interests.

I can't even imagine not wearing a watch, having worn one or another for over fifty years.

So no, I won't be "quitting."

If that's a thought you might not be a true enthusiast. I could never be without a watch.

No way, I need Rolex in my life. I will always be on the hunt, and it excites me to be honest. I am not in a point in my life where I can afford a ton of watches to rotate, but I always want to have one "beater" and one "classy" Rolex in my posession at all times.

A little off topic, I did give up on jewelry. I used to wear a nice gold bracelet and necklace but recently I got sick of the look. I had them melted, and now wear a nice leather bracelet and no necklace.

Tried to Go Cold Turkey But Didn't Last Long!

I kept on looking at my empty wrist and felt unbalanced. Lasted 2 days! The service cost issue is well taken!
