FS: Vintage 1940s Jaeger-LeCoultre PINK Gold Triple Date w/Teardrop Lugs

Up for sale is this beautiful and hard to find 1940s Jaeger-LeCoultre Triple Date in ultra-desirable 18k Pink Gold oversized teardrop-lug case. This great JLC is virtually identical to the Vacheron & Constantin models of the same era at a fraction of the price, including the same complicated caliber 464/484-A that JLC supplied to Vacheron. This example has a gorgeous original factory printed dial and a strong case easily in Excellent condition. You'd be hard pressed to find a better original example of this elusive model and to put the cherry on top of the sundae, the movement has just been fully overhauled by my NYC Master Watchmaker for years more of faithful service and will come with a 6-month guarantee for all normal, non-abusive use.

The asking price for this stunning 1940s PG JLC Triple Date is $6250 USD OBRO including fully insured worldwide shipping. Payment must be made in US DOLLARS. Bank Wire or cash deal only on this transaction please. Watch will ship upon full clearance of the funds, as well as any necessary bank vetting.

CASE & BACK: Oversized but elegant 36mm wide x 46mm long solid 18k pink gold snap back case with fantastically stylized teardrop lugs and grooved sides. Case shows very little polish and the lugs are thick and straight with the non-crown side of the case hallmarked for 18k gold. There are only a few light marks from wear and so I have to say the case is easily in Excellent vintage condition. The external caseback has a few small scratches but is still also Excellent externally and correctly marked with the case serial of 315,k and the added "A" designation. This is a dress watch that is substantial even by today's larger standards and has loads of wrist presence while oozing class. The phrase "they don't make 'em like this anymore" definitely springs to mind.

DIAL & HANDS: Beautiful silver satin dial with applied pink gold quarter Arabics and triangle markers, apertures for the month and day (in Spanish), graduated red date track and large engine turned sub seconds register. There is some minor verdigris towards the edge of the dial in places and one or two small spots and rub marks from age but really the dial is easily Excellent to Near Mint for a 60+-year-old watch and probably the nicest original you are likely to come across, especially as these so often suffer from water damage or have been reprinted. Elegant pink gold sword hands, subsidiary seconds hand and red-tipped date pointer are all Near Mint. Simply a timelessly beautiful JLC layout in top order!

CROWN & PUSHERS: Original and correct unsigned pink gold winding crown fits snugly when pushed in and winds the watch and pulls out to the time setting position as it should. The two small date corrector pushers are seated properly and slightly recessed inside the case: the top pusher at "2" quicksets the month and the pusher at "4" jumps the day. These pushers should only be engaged between about 4:00 AM and 7:00 PM to be safe and prevent damage to the gears of the calendar mechanism. Both date corrector mini-pushers function properly with gentle pressure during the "safe" hours of operation.

CRYSTAL: Low domed acrylic crystal with only the most minor marks from wear, easily Near Mint.

MOVEMENT: Legendary complicated JLC Triple Date caliber 464/484-A manual-winding movement. As stated above, my watchmaker has just fully overhauled this great movement and it is keeping great time with a strong power reserve and all calendar functions operating properly and as they should, including automatic month advancement from the 31st to the 1st of a standard month. Normally, I would take pictures of the movement and inner caseback markings but I am unsure how to separate the movement from the caseback and would prefer not to mess with it. Guaranteed to be period correct and genuine under the hood with a beautiful JLC movement ticking away or your money back!

STRAP: This great JLC comes on a very lightly used handmade Italian brown genuine alligator strap with generic yellow buckle in Excellent to Near Mint condition. This watch takes 17mm straps.

I make NO guarantees for the water resistance of this watch in any way, shape or form.

This great Vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre Triple Date is offered with a 3-day inspection period from the date of receipt and may be returned for a full refund (less any shipping costs incurred by the buyer). This refund is unconditional and once I get the watch back in exactly the same condition as it was sent to you, your money will be refunded. Of course, once the 3 days are over the sale will be considered FINAL.

Thanks for looking,
T.
