Too much gold... is there such a thing ?
Hi everyone,
I own: Blue face sub with the silver / gold braclet Blue face sub solid gold Deep Sea Dweller.. Explorer Ii (the new one) So.. now I have an itch for yet one more watch. Im thinking Day/Date 41mm in either solid or rose gold. But Im almost afraid two solid gold watches is a bit "much". I love my watches and wont do any trade in. Rose gold is nice too.. have yet to see one in person. Platinum is 100% out of the question as I wont shell out almost 60k on a watch. Just started to wonder if 2 solid gold watches is overkill.. |

It's your call, if you can swing it go for it. But perhaps pre-loved, if you change your mind, you won't take a big hit on it.

First off I'd love to see your collection
Secondly, the ddii is an unreal piece. Ultimately it's your decision and you need to be comfortable making it. My advice though.... Get it!

IMHO 2 gold watches isn't that bad. Also if you really want another gold or platinum watch shop around because you can get a HUGE discount.

personally i don't like Gold watches is a bit "much" for me. I guess it's a matter of taste.
Where I come from there are mostly pizza bakers and criminals wearing gold watches. Don't get me wrong i like pizza |

Succinct and to the point Dr. Tom - now quit tempting us
To the OP: The RG DD I had was different enough from a YG piece that it didn't scream too much. So I'd say that's a good route. If you're still ambivalent, then another Two Tone model (YG/SS or RG/SS) might be an alternative.

Too much gold? Huh?
I have a DDII in YG that I love. Now I am seriously thinking of adding a YG Daytona. It's gorgeous. Do it. Joel |

Get yourself a Sub in 18 Kt White gold w/ Blue dial. You won't regret it, and it looks sooooo different than the YG Sub.

Too much gold??? Huh? There's no such thing as too much!
Wearing gold makes me feel I'm wearing something 'special', it gives me a very different feeling from wearing a SS model. Go on, you know you want to!! :-) |

Too much gold..
Here is my humble collection. I took it with the iphone just now in "so so" lighting. I'm jealous of how much nicer all of your pictures are.
I love some of the replies I got... made me crack up. I am amazed that a platinum will go for 35k in the States.. Something is off. I checked with a retailer in Zurich I know.. and RG or YG sell in the 30-31k range. So a new 41mm platinum can't be that low.. |

With the manner in which central banks are printing money and QE III right around the corner, gold might just be a timely play...
