Looking for opinions
I am looking to purchase another car. I am having difficulty deciding so I open it up to some of the smartest people I know. Here are the choices. 2011 Mercedes SLS or 2009 Ferrari F430. Maintenance, insurance, options are not a factor and for all purposes let's assume exactly the same.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts |

For me it would be the Ferrari F430 hands down. There is nothing like the look of a Ferrari and I personally cannot stand the way the doors open on the Mercedes.

I know which one I would choose, in a NY minute.
If you dont know which one you would prefer you might want to hold off on the purchase. If a vehicle doesnt jump out at you, it might be regreted soon after getting it. IMO. |

Mercedes, all day long. The Ferrari will be a high maintenance machine. The Mercedes won't exactly be cheap but will be a better daily runner as well as everything else it obviously is.

He mentioned maintenance costs are not an issue! But like you said the maintenance costs of a Ferrari are going to be a lot higher.

Ok...I of course had a garage too... But it didn't stop the attendants from constantly banging the car up... It got to the point where I would just leave the car out in Southampton and take a car service back and forth on weekends....

Well IMHO the F430 is starting to show it's age.
The SLS is absolutely stunning. I would pick the Mercedes hands down.

Heck with the ride. The really important thing is what watch you'll be wearing.

430! It has more places to hide things.

SLS, that is providing that you want to actually drive the car.

The SLS will hold value better if this is a long-term choice. It is also better on the bum on rough pavement.
The 430 is great but already on its way to ho-hum as the 360 did upon the 430's arrival. It's a rocket for sure so would drive either, but ownership is another thing.

The Ferrari. I like it when other people take the largest hit for driving it off the dealer floor (I should follow that advice myself...).

SLS is the rarer, more special car. F430 provides a more thrilling, direct, driving experience. Depends what you are after.
