Bracelet Repair Adventure
The Oyster Bracelet on my GMT Iic V series need a minor repair. The locking portion had become loose and one side of the springbar popped out. Not having a tool, I took it first to the AD in Christianna Mall. Not only could they not fix it but they wanted $100 to ship it to Rolex. So I next went to fast fix in the mall. After monkeying around with it, saying it was a fake since it did not have a serial number on the back, he gave up. Then I went to a local jeweler who had helped me in the past. In a jiffy it was back together and no charge. Now thats what I call excellent customer relations.

Lol, fake because no serial on back. I guess no one is wondering why he's working in the mall!

Glad you are back together in good form.
As things go, I was at my friendly neighborhood non-AD today as well with my GMTIIC. The locking part of the clasp became loose on one side because one end of the springbar must have slipped from the dimple. Mine did not pop out but when I went to put it back in this morning, the piece the apringbar slips through flipped over atthe exact second (split second) that the springbar popped back in. I just could not get to it without fear of tool mark damage. My jeweler commented that he does not like the design and that they pop out frequently. Cost? NOTHING! BTW: Shame on the mall AD; $100 to send it to Rolex!!! Seriously.
