SD to TT

so im looking to upgrade from a measly Z serial SeaDweller to something in the two tone vein, GMT master II or GoldBlue Sub perhaps.

do AD's give you credit in the amount of the purchase price if you want to trade up??

also, should one refurbish the watch in order to get more out of it, whether selling to private buyer or AD?? the reason being is the scuffs incurred on the clasp and links while sitting at my desk.

Nick,

I would refrain from doing a trade-up deal with your AD since he has to EARN on the deal, and be sure about that he will earn handsomely, too.

I'd suggest that you sell the SD privately to get a better price.

And speaking of earning money:

AD's earn MORE money on selling at TT or YG/WG watch, so you can use that as an advantage to get a nice discount. I'd say that 15 to 20 % are not unrealistic, depending on your negotiation skills and payment method (CASH really helps!).

As for what model to choose, I would second JJ's suggestion and go for the TT Blue Sub!

Good luck!

Oh, a small btw: You write that your location is "HELL".............i hope it is not "RXlXX PaXadiXe"!

You'll be better served selling the SD privately. As to which..both are great watches, but I gotta go GMT...go figure!

Try them both on.

I had a similar choice; I was leaning towards the Blue Sub (great watch) and the TT GMT IIc did not appeal to me at first. After trying it on, I changed my view.

I chose the TT GMT IIc because it really grew on me and the new features (ceramic bezel, better bracelet, sturdier case) are really great. I also own an LV Sub and the GMT is a nice addition for diversity.

Tough choice, both are great.

Nick keep the SD and get another Rolex. Remember Rolex will change the SD last. The SD is a diamond in the Rolex crown. It was a first in the watch industry. Nothing measly about a SD. Remember two is better than one or two is one, one is none.
