ROLEX certificate

Hello guys, would need your opinion -

I have just received my 'new to me' Rolex Oyster mid. The watch looks absolutely perfect, bought from German commision sale. All paperwork included (original certificate, box, manuals + 2007 complete service invoice). I took the watch to the Rolex AD to shorten the bracelet and test the waterresistance. All looks good, I think this piece has been hardly used from that servicing. What bothers and worries me pretty much - the serial no. is E series (cca late 1990) and the watch was sold in beg. of 1995 (stamped on the certi). Is this usual? Watch beeing stored somewhere for 4,5 years? Thanks for any comment..

PS: the serial no. is not black (it is perfo)

Thanks, being paranoid... First I had spotted that double perfo of 100 (German market) and then, everything else seemed odd to me - except the watch that is really lovely (5 sec+ a day though).. :(

You're still within specs but just barely.

Well I know, that's why I am taking it to the AD service again to set it up if possible. I was just worried about the certif. There have been so many fakes of everything around the market, hence the paranoia.. The watch itself, box, manuals, etc. are 100% legit, just that Rolex certif looked a bit odd to me. (double perfo of 100, and a huge gap between production date and purchase date)

Afraid the so called certificate or papers is just a warranty paper, and once its expired well its a bit of paper. And bits of paper books or boxes don't always prove authenticity of any watch. Now you state you have service paper from 2007,well that should have all the information about your watch, and all the authenticity you need if it was done by the RSC.And watches like the Oyster mid size not very fast sellers, and E serials went from 1990 into 1991/2 but thats just a approx date when the case was stamped, and not when a completed watch was made.

I understand that the original certif. might be a useless paper by now, I just wanted my watch to be 100% full set - incl. original certificate with a serial no. matching the serial no. on the watch, box, manuals, spare links, etc. The watch is all fine, been checked by Rolex on Friday and is 100% legit. The watch has got a dial that has been no longer produced, that is why I was hunting for this tapestry one and I am in love

PS: thanks a lot for the explanation of that stamp gap :)
