Question - I'm a little suspicous
My new sterling silver and rose gold watch now has me suspicious. The back case has the crown and case numbers upside down compared to my other vintage rolex watches?
I bought this from a watch seller from Korea (which I know is a red flag) but he was recommended as legit. But, Now I am concerned and have only a few days to send it back. Thoughts? The 18k YG is my authenticated 1940 Modele Depose and the SS one is the new one (which remains undated as of yet) but it has repair dates inside from 1957 and from 1967. |

Sorry, don't know enough about these.
The, what looks like, 180 movement looks legit, any doubt: back off. |

I don't think that I would worry about this as everything else checks out.. Rolex was never consistent in these things - especially back then..
The only real difference in the caseback is where the cutout is for the stem..I can see an operator placing a back in the stamp jig either way..

This was returned. I found out the seller was accused of selling fake watches. I looked at over 40 vintage rolex watches on line and found none of them with the crown upside down. I think I need a break from watches !

you dont need a break from watches, you just need to educate yourself more when it comes to vintage rolex.

It's just that your passion is in the realm of vintage Rolex watches that are less sought-after than the vintage sports models. I hope that with time you will become a valuable expert on these types of watches because they aren't as well known on this forum.
