Possible Flip
Ok guys so I need some help. I recently got a BNIB SUBC updating my classic 16610 that I had. I got the sub on sept 13th, and boy do I love this watch. The bracelet the clasp the ceramic it is pretty much everything I have wanted, but I can't get over the Polar Exp II.
So basically I'm trying to decide do I flip my subC for a BNIB Polar Exp II 42mm or do I keep the sub? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated =) |

IMHO, it's time to stop flipping and start collecting! One is a diver and the other is dual time, so you need one of each :)

Tough, tough decision. They're both awesome. IMO, I would keep the SubC. Not just because that is the watch that I would go with, but after reading and looking at a lot of EXP II's, I really think that the brushed stainless bezel will show wear very easily. Obviously, most of us go with a Rolex to WEAR, but as an OCD (not medically diagnosed) watch owner, I find myself really getting annoyed with the minor scratches I find on my brushed pieces....
Either way, go with what you REALLY want. I think it's natural for watch enthusiasts to get "bored" and want to tinker with their collection. Hell, I had over 25 watches and sold 20 of them to get into a couple I really wanted. Do what will make YOU happy! Good luck either way! |

exp II is an awesome watch... really compliments the Sub if you can keep both?
but they are apples and oranges, each excellent.

Hmmm. Tough call. Have you tried both on? They do wear differently... I currently have an Exp II Noir and love it. I tried the Sub C on while I was getting my Exp II and to me the Exp II just had more presence. I will note that I have really had my eye on a Suv LVC as my next piece, something about the Hulk that I just love... Good luck.

To be 100 percent honest I have not tried both on, but I seem to keep looking at all of the pictures on the forums. Also I am a little OCD myself with scratches on my watches, I'm amazed that its been over a month and a trip to europe and I still haven't put a single scratch on the SUBC yet.
I also love the wrist Presence of the SUBC. I suppose I could save for a while and get both watches that would be my absolute goal. I guess I should go out and try them on before I take the plunge =). |

If you give up the SubC, you'll only end up buying another one by this time next year. Save yourself the $ and keep the SubC

Keep the sub, it is the essence of Rolex. Save up and build your collection, even if it takes years of waiting.

Think it's better to keep the sub, since ya really love the watch. As for the exp II, sometimes it's good to have an aim. ^_^ sometimes it's the process that really keeps ya interested isnt it?

September 13th as in 2012?!
I would definitely keep the sub c and save up for the next. Given you've only had the sub c for so short a time, I wouldn't rush to flip it. You have plenty of time to sell it later before the warranty runs out. |

Keep the Sub unless you really don't want it. If you like it, which it obviously seems you do, then why contemplate flipping it? After getting the Expy 2, you'll no doubt miss the Sub and rue that you had flipped it! Keep it and save for the Expy 2 would be what I'd recommend.

Thanks everyone for talking me down off of the flipping ledge =). I will be taking the advice of our wonderful board members and saving for the expII and saving the sub. I love the watch but there is def something cool about that orange 24 hour hand.
Thanks guys for all the advice I appreciate it |

Ya I really should go try them on, but I always feel bad walking into a watch store knowing I am not going to buy anything from them because I truly enjoy the service and price I get from the trusted sellers here.
