Stretch, how much is acceptable...?

Hi guys, just bought this bracelet for $ 200.00 on ebay. Was supposed to be in "very good condition". Well, it is clean, but the stretch....... Way too much, right?

Heck yeah, that's a good price in this condition. They stretch/wear much worse.

thank you guys, just do not have any experience with the Jubilees.....but for a regular SS bracelet, that would be too much stretch, right?

That's not bad at all. Keep in mind that there are a lot of links in a Jubilee so just a tiny bit of wear in each link is going to add up quickly. Put it on your watch and take a picture for more positive comments. Also post a close up of the clasp so we can see the condition of the Rolex crown.

BTW, not sure if you've ever worn a Jubilee but they are VERY comfortable!

For $200, you did very well.

Don't worry.....we all stretch a little as we age.

I don't mind stretch because the bracelet flexes with my movements, which I find more
comfortable. it's the lack of flexing which I find uncomfortable in the modern 5mm thick
bracelets & straps.

Nice score. The stretch does not look too bad and the price was very reasonable.

You got a great deal. It is possible to tighten it up if it really bothers you.

Pav,

I am familiar with Michael Young's name and bracelet tightening. Have you used anyone in the US that you would recommend?

Well, for quite a few watches - that jubilee is the regular bracelet - and yours looks pretty fair. It will be comfortable to wear. If you are comparing to the oyster bracelet, that would be pretty loose as there are fewer links in the oyster - thus there would be more wear at each connection. I'd suggest using new spring bars and making sure your end pieces are nice and tight in the watch lugs when you install it - also, check the clasp for crispness. Either problem can be catastrophic if the bracelet parts when you least expect it. Luck!
