Counting the Days...

Hi Gang,

Been feeling restless, sleepless lately and I cannot help but wonder if it's due to one of three things:

1. Getting married on 1 December
2. Receiving my Expy II White Face on the day
3. Giving the GMT II Coke to my wife to be on the day

Actually, the GMT II Coke gets delivered next Thursday afternoon, so I'll get to ahem, play with it before handing it over. We've agreed to pool all the Rolex in the collection so that neither of us will be stuck for a choice. We've already re-sized her Expy II Black's bracelet so that all we'll need to do is swap the bracelets over for her to wear anything in the collection except for the Daytona, in which case we'll need to find a spare bracelet, which I know, is next to impossible.

So there you have it, I can't wait for the day.

Also, it also means a merging of two fine collections if I dare say so myself. MrsJedi-to-be has a varied collection of Cartier watches, from the Tank through to Pasha and Roadster, all in stainless steel and immaculate condition, which is more than I can say about my pile of 904L

Now, any suggestions from your good folks as to how we might roster our watches???

Edited to add:

I'm thinking of wearing my 16610 in the morning in church, followed by the Pepsi at the lunch reception, whereby I'll receive the Expy II from my in-laws, quick watch change for a couple hours, then Daytona for the evening... HOWZAT???

I agree what a good way to start a new year, what a fine gift to give to your new wife, and feeling restless, sleepless you would not be human if you did not feel this way.
Congratulations to you.

Lee, sounds like you and your wife-to-be would be excellent candidates for the "with this watch, I thee wed" concept debated on a thread a week or so ago.

Thanks for the kind words gang!

Lisa, we did talk about it and we were seriously considering borrowing dad's all gold Daytona and crafting a makeshift necklace out of it for her to wear during the beach party a'la Public Enemy, but I think it was the Pineapple & Malibu's talking that particular night!! And yeah, I'm gonna ask Sue to pose with her Expy II for you so you can see what a 40mm monster looks like on her rather small wrist!

It will be a funtastic day, and we're doing a sunset cocktail session followed by a seafood outdoor BBQ with whole jungle-spiced lamb on a spit, all on a pristine tropical beach, washed down with Veuve Cliquot and Bollinger.

We're both looking forward to it and have instructed all relatives with Rolex to sling 'em and wear 'em!! There'll be about 50 Rollies in attendance from last count!!
