My first Sinn - 756 UTC Diapal
I recently bought my first Sinn, the 756 UTC Diapal. I must say that this German brand offer some great tool watches. After having experienced the 756 for a while I can now imagine how the early Rolex owners must have felt wearing the classic Rolex tool watches.
Some pics here: Thanks for viewing. |

Owning a 356 Sa, I can appreciate your appreciation of the Sinn brand... I'm currently eyeing a 103 Ti Ar. Not sure another watch is on my agenda but... it never hurts to look, right? Congratulations and enjoy your new Sinn...

Danny,
Your photographic skills are indeed most admirable. And that's one fine looking watch. Cheers - JJ

Nice watch. Does Sinn use an ETA or in house movement?

ETA but... they only use Grade 4 movements according to Watchbuys. Check out THIS link and look at pages 151-> of their catalog for more technical specs on Sinn Watches.

The 756 Diapal is powered by a Valjoux 7750 workhorse which has been modified to use Sinn's proprietary frictionless escapement system which does not require lubrication. In principle it is similar to the Omega Co-axial movement but without the hefty price tag.

Blame it on the US sub prime crisis. My portfolio has taken a real beating recently. Actually I do have a couple of Omega Speedmaster Pros in my collection so my focus is not totally on Rolex and Sinn's functional approach to watch design really appeals to me. So I will definitely be committing more Sinns in the near future. |
