Time for a Grammar lesson, suckers!!

Okay guys,

The only thing that's prompted me to revert back to the good old days of grammar lessons is the continuous misuse and mis-spelt word 'to' and 'too'.

Now, everyone pay attention.....hands on desks...Johnny stop staring at Dina....Paul get your hands away from Catie....Padi, stop with the 'different strokes' and Bruce get that chubby son of yours off your lap. Ed, stop looking at Daren's wallet....Daren, shut that golf book and Adrian wipe that Steve Martin smile offa your face!!!

Right...now where were we? I'll start off with very simple examples...

Example 1: I am off to work.
Example 2: I am too tired today.

As you tossers can see, in example 2, the too can also be substituted with 'very', so the sentence can read as: I am very tired today. Get it, suckers?

In other words, to is a preposition and too is an adverb.

I hope the 2 girls in the class have understood all of this. If not, no worries, see me after class in my private quarters for further tuitions....free of charge.

JJ

I'm just too tired to care about this.

By the way JJ, in proper writing, and according to Canadian Press and Associated Press style guides, the rule of thumb is to write out a number that is less than 10, and use the number if it's 10 or higher.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, baldie.

Hey JJ, here's a grammar question for you.

In the dictionary there are three toos; How do you spell toos to make that sentance correct?

Earl, the road to recovery is a long and twisty one... and you have quite a way to go before you can get out of the driveway.

Erm, JJ, given that I have three university degrees, and have worked as a journalist and as a public relations guru, and the fact that English is my first language... I think I'm better suited. Plus, I won't scare her off the forum.
