Thinking on trading Pam312 for SubC

Hello guys, I bought a brand new PAM 312 O series 3 months ago and I've been enjoying it a lot, however not as much as I would like to, i love how it looks when it is not on my wrist, the curves of the 1950 case and everything, but when I wear it a find it a little top heavy, thick and clunky.

Lately i've been playing around with the idea of flipping it for a SubC no date (114060). My philosophy is that every WIS should have at least one rolex in their collection and not necessarily a Panerai, or maybe a PAM but i could get it some other day in the future. Can any of you guys talk me out of this? Have you ever thought of trading a PAM for a SubC or vicecersa?

Thanks for your help guys!

Pam 312 doesn't fit me either. I'd do it, or maybe get a 233 or 44mm Luminor instead.

Maybe you time is up with the PAM and you want the Rolex. Some people like to try other watches until they find that sings to them and they stick with it. Go for the SUb

Thanks a lot guys, Aksingh and Peter those pictures are absolutely stunning.

With your help now I'm totally convinced that I'm gonna do it I tried the SubC again at the AD and it just looked perfect on my wrist. I'm gonna put the pam for sale and I'll upload pictures of the Sub when I get it!

312 is a great reference (although I found it too top heavy as well) but everyone should have a Sub in their collection at least once.

312 is a great watch for those it fits. it didn't fit on my wrist height or bulk-wise, so, i went in another 44mm direction (not a 1950s case). agree that flipping a 312 for a subC makes sense, as does flipping it for a 233 or another non-1950s case panerai. i really enjoy having the option of bracelet on the sub and straps on the PAM, and couldn't imagine being without one of them.

I really dislike Panerai. I really can't stand their gigantic proportions. If they were all around 40mm and they weren't priced as high as they are I'd probably own 3!

Get the Sub. It's a more serious watch.

I first added a Sub as a foundation on the collection, then later just added a PAM for fun.

I agree that it is too top heavy. Had one and got rid of it myself. Sub c is great but if you love panerai the 372 sits much more comfortably than the 312.

Admitting this universal truth is half the battle. Just what is it that they put in that kool-aid that gets people to convince themselves otherwise, or as in your situation, still debate flipping it even when you do bring yourself to admit it?

I sold my 312 to get my DSSD, after wearing a 44mm Pam a Sub c felt like a woman's watch on my wrist. I tried it on 5 times before deciding it just won't cut it for me. Totally pleased with my decision although I am buying a 372 shortly. Do whatever makes you happy because there are too many different options here for you to really get any help from members. Some love Pam's some hate them so....

Go for what you want! Both watches are awesome and special, but the SubC is definitely calling your name and it will until you get one on your wrist. If you have the opportunity, take it. Good luck!
