Ultimate Satisfaction…Rolex Datejust II!
Grail Alert, Grail Alert!! In my possession is my ultimate Grail...a New Rolex Datejust II 18K/SS 116333! For a long time the ultimate grail and my most prized watch was my Rolex Submariner Blue TT watch. I loved it, but when I really wanted to dress to impress the watch did not do it for me. I found a Rolex Datejust and I thought problem solved…except at 36mm these "old man eyes" could not handle the size. When the DJ II was introduced I thought Oh Yeah…PERFECT! So finally I sacrificed 3 watches including the Submariner to trade up to a NEW, UNWORN, VIRGIN Datejust II. I am now in Grail Heaven!! The watch face is Black but in certain light it’s dark gray or dark brown. My collection is now fulfilled (Thanks Tony!!)…there are no more MUST haves…just WANT to have timepieces. Share in my excitement!!

Big congrats. Sorry you had to sacrifice the sub, but it sounds like it makes you happy and that's all that counts

I have the slate dial, green Roman numerals. It was a tough choice between the two (yours and mine). I must say...looking at your pics....still tough!!!
Beautiful watch! Funny you mention the TT sub (blue dial). That is/was my grail. Its hard...I still want it....i'm glad to hear maybe me bypassing the TT blue sub was a good move! |

Right now it is clearly in my rear view, however, maybe an older one may be on the horizon in the distant future. It IS a BEAUTY!!

Congrats. Had a 116333 slate/green roman which I traded for a Blue Sub. Funny how that goes. :)
Enjoy it, it's an exquisite piece.

My late father in law had a DJII TT champagne/diamond dial, very blingy but loved the size. Prefer the white/ivory stick dials myself but to be honest there isn't a bad dial in the range IMO. That black roman dial of floater156 belonging to Chris looks the business too, great watch.
