Going to the doc again in a couple hours......

I'm not going to make another claim about being better until it's at least a week from now on. After 2 days of feeling pretty good the pain came back last night and hasn't stopped. I'm going to tell the doc to give me something to make the pain stop or just put my sorry arse down!

Well Bruce good luck but just be careful with some of those painkillers.
Most have side effects, worse than the pain, they are meant to relieve.

It is no fun Bruce, but you really have to take it easy mate, even when you start to feel better. Hope you get a good report.

If you want to feel better, buy a new watch.

Seriously... hope the doc prescribes something stronger/more effective.

Would rather buy a watch than take the new drugs. She's put me on a long term treatment and given me percaset (sp). Said it would go on a couple of months. She said the extreme cases go on forever. I refuse to be an extreme case.

You better hope your shingles are not like your WISdom, because there you are very extreme.

No, I'm back to normal, whatever that is and I'll be back to work on Saturday. (That's the first day of our week.)

That would be Percocet - oxycodone at 5mg and tylenol at 325 mg in combination. No worries mate, I take these when the Tylenol #3's don't do the trick - more often as time goes by. Just be careful with them, as they can be quite addictive, but if the pain is bad enough you won't even feel anything when you take them........

Hey Bruce. Hope you're feeling better today and that the Dr gave you a good report. Maybe Frans can send you something for the pain.

Now THERE'S an idea You know, I gotta be one of the only people my age who has never even tried that stuff. Kinda hard to believe!

Thanks guys. I'm still hurting, but the new pills have me feeling somewhat functional now.

Thanks mate. I'll dose up again in a bit and try to sleep tonight. Don't know why, but whenever I get a day or two of feeling better it always seems to come back even worse

Say Bruce, it's a long shot, but have you tried accupuncture? It seems to be a hit-and-miss thing, but when it hits it works quite well.

I know a parlor here in town that advertises that and massages. But the whole package treatment is a different story. Come to Dallas Bruce and I'll drop you off there.

Rather sad to hear about your sorry plight, Bruce...but I must say, you're one helluva brave guy. Hope you get better soon, pal....you certainly don't deserve this!!

BTW, is your doctor a female? What happens every time she bends over to examine you?

My Dad ended up going to a chiropractor when he had shingles. The drugs from the doc didn't work, but apparently the chiropractor fixed him on the first visit.

I'll give this latest treatment a chance, but if I'm not well in a couple of weeks, I may just seek an alternative!

She sits down on a stool away from me. Either I stink or she was briefed beforehand

Hi Bruce just be very careful with those Percocet tablets they can become addictive.I was on them once, but did not suit me so doctor changed them.

Will do Padi. I appreciate it mate. I've known a couple of people who've been addicted to them, so it does concern me. It's tough when you're in real pain and you just want it to stop. Kind of find yourself saying to hell with it and just taking the damn things. Now that the pain from yesterday is under control, I'm going to really try to just take the pills when I really need them. I did sleep well last night though

Bruce my aunt has shingles, on her head and in her eye. The doc's can't make them go away completely but, have been able to calm them down for periods of time. Hope you well my friend.
