Cheapest RSC Service to get papers?

Hi folks,

I am about to purchase a Rolex that does not have its warranty/certificate card.

What I know is that if I take it for service to an RSC, then I will get an official paper from them with the model# and serial# listed on it.

The question is: What is the cheapest thing I can ask an RSC to do for me so that I can get paperwork? By the way, there is nothing wrong with the watch...

Send it in for a regular service and then decline it.

If you actually live in Anaheim, take a drive over to the Beverly Hills RSC and ask for a written service estimate.. (as Mon alluded to)

This will also let you know if there is anything actually wrong with it, or if it has any aftermarket/counterfeit parts..

There may be a slight charge for this, but you would get that included in a service price if you elect to have one.

(I will refrain from commenting on your need to have such a piece of paper)

And lets say 5yrs from now when I advertize to sell, a paper from RSC with the watch's info on it counts just as
heavy as the little credit card type warranty card that comes originally with a watch?

A 5 year old paper wouldn't sway me.. No telling what you've done to that watch over 5 years..

You do not say if this is a vintage watch or a newer watch. If it is vintage, this might save you a trip.

I had a vintage DateJust (1962) I wanted serviced. I drove the 50 miles to RSC BH. I went the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, big mistake traffic wise.

They took the watch into the back. I have an aftermarket 14k jubilee bracelet and was wondering how much they would give me for it on a Rolex Jubilee Bracelet.

The gentleman came back about 20 minutes and told me that they could not do any work on vintage Rolex’s at the BH since they did not have the parts. They would have to send it to Dallas and there would be a $150 charge that would be deducted from the service if I had it done. He also said they would give me a couple of hundred dollars towards a new bracelet since Rolex encourages people to have original parts.

At that point, I figured I could send it to Dallas myself insured for $40 or to someone that does vintage Rolex on TRF.

A friend just told the the BH RSC has closed their front office and will be (or already has) shut the center down. I was surprised but maybe someone who has been there recently can confirm or impeach that rumor.

They are doing some work on the facade of the building, but, I took my watch in the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and they were open. Another gentlemen picked up his watch while I was there.

Cheap and RSC in the same sentence? I didn't think that was even possible

Doesn't seem like a fun way to enjoy your watch...planning on selling it (or maybe selling it) already,,,
