An Omega Guy's First Rolex
Evening!
I've traditionally been a pretty big Omega fan. I really like their designs, but I've gone through several of their models in the past year trying to find the perfect one to have as a daily wearer. At first, I bought an SMP-C... flipped it because it was a little too shiny and blingy for me. After that, I bought an AT8500... good watch, but I got tired of the teak pattern, wanted something simpler and more timeless. Then I bought a PO8500... liked the design, but it just simply was too big and heavy for my 6.25" wrists, flipped it. I never really thought about Rolex, Omega was the brand I was always interested in. However, they recently opened up a Rolex boutique near my office and I decided to stop in one day. Tried on a 114060 and WOW, I was impressed! Also tried on an Explorer and found that was fantastic too. I never really got the appeal of Rolexes from pictures, but in person, it was a total moment of understanding. Stunning, timeless designs that look great on the wrist. Now, the lugs on the 114060 were a little big for me, didn't quite sit right on my small wrists, so I didn't go for that. However, after trying one on, I was set on a Submariner, but wanted to source one of the older ones. So that being said, I recently purchased a very gently used 14060M and I am absolutely thrilled. The appearance is absolutely timeless and I can be sure it will never seem old; the 39.5mm size is perfect for my wrists and all in all, it is a thoroughly impressive timepiece. To be honest, I had some concerns about the bracelet at first, but I see the appeal now. It's lightweight and very very comfortable. All in all, never thought I'd be a Rolex fan, but here I am! The only thing I wonder about now is why I waited so long to try on one for myself! |

Congratulations on an excellent choice for your first Rolex! I did the exact same thing a couple of years back and still enjoy my 14060m very much.
I'm a big Omega guy also and still have a few in my watch box, that I enjoy regularly alongside my Rolexes. Well done! |
