Please help me! Scratch on Sub bezel!

Hello,

I have a Rolex Submariner 14060 (no date) which had already some scratches on the bezel and now a quite deep one! It bothers me very much so I tried to find a replacement bezel insert.

Found some after-market inserts but they are horrible! My jeweler said that it will probably cost me 500 euro's to fix it!

It should be very easy to do it yourself but where can I find a genuine insert? I'm affraid to get scammed if I buy such thing on eBay.

Who knows where I can buy a genuine bezel insert? Or does somebody have one for sale?

If its just the insert you need then most any AD could order you one or if you live close to a RSC cost wise they should not cost more than around £45 or less quite easy to change.

Very easy to purchase and install yourself. Never use after-market parts.

Are you talking just the aluminum insert or is there damage to the bezel? If just the insert, that's not expensive at all to replace.

(Cue the ceramic vs aluminum arguments. )

There will be a lot of people who will want to sell you such a common replacement part for hundreds of dollars.. They rely on the fact that most people today want to do all their shopping from their arm-chair.

If you go to your Authorized Dealer you will find that they are less than 100USD installed..

That's the beauty with non-ceramic bezel inserts......they can easily be sourced & replaced.

Don't buy an aftermarket insert - keep it authentic - that's my 2cents.

I was looking for a new bezel as well and saw the prices and almost jumped. I went to an AD and they told me that with service, or without, under 100 bucks. I sent it to Rik (Time Care) and added it to the little things I wanted to improve besides the service. In all, I would def take the advice and go to an AD and keep it authentic.

I found one here for 200 bucks. That's 150 euro's. Good price imo.

My AD said they had to send it to Rolex?

i recently had an insert changed on my date sub at RSC london - £36 fitted. so I would suggest 150 euro is a terrible price i'm afraid

Have to agree 150 euro is a complete rip off price if you ask me.

Replacing the insert is an option, but consider leaving as is. These dings and scratches that you have inflicted on your watch form part of its character. It is a tool watch and is meant to be able to take the daily rigours of active people. Wear it with pride, warts and all. A clean polished Mint Rolex is just another Rolex. A worn Rolex is your Rolex.

Wear with scratch until it is time for service and then send to RSC and get new insert.
Watch will come back looking like new.
