Daytona 18K Gold.

Hi

I have just signed up here so first of all I would like to say hi to everyone!
I am looking to buy my first Rolex as I fancy a change from my TAG. I have been keeping an eye on the Daytona's as especially like the 18K gold model like shown;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROLEX-18kt...p2047675.l2557

but preferably with the gold strap aswell. I have been offered one through an advert I have out in the classifieds. It seems genuine from what I have read on the net but I am not 100%.

Is there any way of telling this models apart from a good replica? are the serial numbers specific and could anyone check it for me?

Any help would be great.
Regards
Jack

If you know nothing about this, you definitely should not buy a Daytona, and even less with a gold bracelet, without checking properly, meaning taking it to an AD or taking VERY detailed pictures of watch AND bracelet, unless you blindly trust the seller, of course.

People here will try to help once you post the pics.

Unless it's a very well established/reputable seller, I'd be very careful. Also keep in mind that any pictures they send could be of a real watch but not necessarily what they ship you.

Thanks for the help everyone, really appreciate it. I have attached a pic, I dont know the full info on it yet as we have only had a quick discussion, He is sending me the full details tonight and better photos as he is currently at work. Apparently it is real but you cant just take someone word for it!
I have read a few tips online on how to figure out it is fake and they seem to suggest it real but I don't really know a great deal about Rolex.

I would be paying via paypal so could get it checked out as soon as it comes then that way I have some come back if it is fake.

Usually when a sale has ended you can view the original listing.

I say this was pulled.

Because you have a new account you need moderators approval before you can upload any pics.

Picture is up now. It does not look good. The rehaut engraving gives it away quickly.

No one wants to pay full price. But I've have learned that when you buy online you never actually get what you think you are getting. And regardless of all the promises you get over the phone you end up without any money and a deficient product. Then you spend your valuable time trying to get your money back.

I've read so many classifieds about watches being in "mint" condition, that they have never been worn. Yet, the watch is like 10 years old. A watch that is 10 years old has never been worn?

Check with your local AD first. Do a lot of research. Then you are ready to make an informed purchasing decision.

If I were you, I would stick with either an AD or use one of the trusted sellers here on TRF...

The few bucks you might save on ebay, is going to be quickly replaced with regret if the watch you buy is not 100%...I've bought two watches here from the trusted sellers, both were better than expected and the transactions were flawless...It's your money, do what you want, but realize there are a lot of fakes out there....

THANKYOU everyone for the help, Much appreciated.
I have read on-line various ways on how to spot a fake and have spotted a few my self but still need a little re-assurance.

From my oppinion, is better to buy the seller instead of some pictures, that can be stolen very easy.
Try an AD, a deal that can be made in person near where you live, or from a good seller if you buy online.
Wish you to find a good purchase for your search.
