Hello, I am trying to learn here. Can someone point out everything that is wrong with this POS? I know the blue dial does not seem right but would like to know all the other details if possible. Thanks!

I see you are a recent member, so welcome.

There are a handful of active guys in the "WatchOut!!" post who sleuth the internet for fakes, frankenwatches, and other junk lurking out there waiting for the unwary buyer. This is a free service they offer on their own time to try and protect members. They have saved many people from being cheated by scammers.

This posting is one of my favorites (the 1st one I open when I log on the site) where over time by observing, I have gained valuable knowledge. I still don't think I am good enough to declare a POS on a posting on Ebay or Craigslist, but I sure know enough to be very dubious about these sites when looking for a genuine watch.

One of our best sleuths is David (Crowncollection). When he delares something is wrong, I never argue. He has an intimate knowledge about Rolex through his father who was a Rolex watchmaker. We also have a couple of Tudor experts who sniff the junk out from this Rolex division.

One of the rules of our sleuths, right or wrong, is to provide just enough information to declare the watch is not as advertised. This is done to keep the scammers and hackers guessing.

Just in case you are thinking of purchasing:

I buy all my watches, if possible, off the TRF For Sale postings. There are excellent trusted sellers selling on the site with great pricing, and many can even source a non Rolex product through their contacts. Ask and they will find!! I have never been personally "burnt" purchasing off this site. There has been some rare issues with dishonesty, but these people are exposed very quickly and banned from the site.

90% of my watch knowledge has come from listening to David. When he writes I take it in..

Yup, you're right as its extremely skewed from the flash of the camera and the angle of the pic.

Id like to see better pics before passing any possible false judgement.

Just my 2 cent's

I will say this, if one would expect to sell this watch they may wanna take pictures for dummies 101 cause his camera skills just arn't there.

DavidSW is 1st class. His descriptions are very laid back and you will receive better than described. I purchased a GMT Pepsi from him that he downgraded to LNIB instead of BNIB because there was one case label missing - technically it was brand new. I took all the labels off anyway to wear the Pepsi - it is one of my favorites.

He has also found two watches for me that I was after in quick order.

Definitely, A Good Guy!

That gap in the upper left is not correct also the lower left lug does not look fitted right. Other then that it is hard to tell? I don't see anything else wrong. I would stay clear away from buying anywhere besides an AD no matter what the watch looks like. These knock-offs seem to be getting harder to pick off faults from pictures alone. In this case we all know a Rolex with a gap in the upper left like that would not make it out of the factory or even come off the production line.

What I do when I'm looking for ways to tell if genuine or not; I pull up a known trusted source, i.e. Rolex.com, and in another window, the picture of the watch in question. You can go back and forth between the two windows to discern the differences. That is how you can learn to tell what is fake, if you aren't familiar with the real thing.
