Icon19 Is my inherited Rolex a fake?

Hello. You guys seem to be a passionate group that may be able to help identify this Rolex watch I inherited from my great grandmother.

On the face (and excuse me if I can't name a piece of the watch correctly, I don't know too much about watches in general), it has a crown on the top, and reads ROLEX, Oyster Perpetual, DATEJUST, Superlative Chronometer, Officially Certified, T SWISS MADE T

While searching, I came across this old thread that named similarities, but I'm not skilled enough to really see the difference (and his photos were pretty blurry). I did try to scrutinize a photo someone posted of their legitimate watch on this old thread, but I just cannot be sure.

I also found this number, 70216, on one of the links of the inner band, and this number, 62523H18 on the clasp under where it says P11 STEELINOX

I tried searching these numbers to help identify the make and model, but nothing really cropped up.

Here are some photos (click to see larger):

Thank you for taking the time to help me. I appreciate any help and advice I can get!

I love how the "is it real... is is a fake" always come from people with a post count of 1 or 2... kind of humerous... keeps me smiling though...

To be fair, he went off-line 10 minutes before the first reply...but your point is generally correct.

You know when I first came on the forum, I saw the posts from you guys saying that people would come in and ask if there great great grandmothers watch was fake, or I found it at a flea market, and so on. Y'all said that it would happen all the time. I thought to myself that there couldn't be that many of them but boy was I wrong. It seems like one comes up every day. I see why y'all get jaded to them. I am sure there is one every once in a while that really inherited a fake but all the scammers out there make it hard for those guys.
Y'all are also correct that they are mostly from first time posters who don't introduce themselves and then never post again.
Sorry for the long post but just wanted to share what I have witnessed since I joined. On e again, you guys are 100% correct. Lol

I swear these stories are a dime a dozen. What's weird is they are always mostly the same. I think you wanted to treat yourself with a Rolex, but couldn't procure the funds, so you went fake and are asking us if your watch is fake or real. Which it most definitely is. Didn't even take me 30 seconds to figure this baby out. Even if your watch was real (which it isn't) I'd still suspect it was fake because you asked. Why ask when you know!!!! Gosh these threads kill me!

I personally don't buy the theory, that fakers are testing waters with this kind of stuff.

I imagine 2 scenarios:

1. Someone bought something clearly knowing that it's a fake. But pride says, " at it's so goo that noone realizes it" so, the ultimate test is here in TRF

2. Someone is selling fakes pretending them to be real and tells his buyers to post a thread on a forum for an expert opinion.

Imo, scenario 1 is plausible, I have met many people proudly telling me, that noone can identify their fake as such.

I have to laugh at this: First off you don't buy a fake "knowingly" with any pride whatsoever. Secondly if you have met "many people" proudly telling you, that no one can identify their fake, you really need to hangout with a better class of people!
However this is my very humble opinion.....

I got my first Rolex last week for Christmas and have become obsessed with everything Rolex. I am curious, how did y'all all spot that was a fake so quickly from those pictures, besides the obviously ridiculous story?

I'm sorry if I offended you guys. I assumed you were a passionate group open to newcomers.

I will admit, I am not a watch enthusiast. I am a 22 year female that just graduated from college. My great grandmother, Cora Duruttya, died in 2011, and my mother collected the watch from her.

I've been unemployed since mid-September because my previous job was a work study job at the college. My mother, knowing that Rolex watches are very expensive, thought that it could prove helpful in giving me the watch and checking it out for its authenticity. You know, to help pay rent.

I didn't think I'd have to explain myself to you. I would never be able to afford a real Rolex watch on my own, so I have no intentions on buying one. However, if it was real, it could have helped me and my mother with our bills.

I also thought that this forum would have been much safer than visiting a jeweler, or watchmaker, that could easily take advantage of a naive young person like myself. So thank you guys, I appreciate knowing the truth. But perhaps, please be a bit nicer?

And I did stay online, refreshing this page, for a good amount of time before I decided to do something else. I'm sorry I didn't stare it down longer than 45 minutes.

And if it is too much trouble, I would like to know what details make it a fake. I'm not skilled at detecting them, but I'll probably still wear it to feel important in the world. If it is too much trouble, then fine. You can always Google me. My name is Tessa Liddington, my mother is Lucinda Liddington. I've got nothing to hide. In fact, this username, Zikku, was a high school alias I liked to use. Perhaps you'll find it elsewhere on the internet connected to me. I must have really thought out this con, guys. Really.

Anyway, I appreciate the blunt responses in any event. Happy Holidays.

The most glaring issue with that watch is it has a cyclops that has no magnification.

Thank you, Beelzy, for pointing that out. After you mentioned it, I looked at the watch a little closer. I wasn't totally convinced so I took a photo with it slanted to see the number without the cyclops (which I had to look up what that is, by the way), and then another through it.

I still couldn't tell the difference, so I finally took one when the littlest hand passing through it. That definitely shows the lack of magnification.

I am disappointed that it is a fake, but life will go on. On a side note, why does it say 29?
