Black SS Daytona or Sub Date
In my never ending quest for a New Rolex. I have finally narrowed it down to these two watches.
SS Daytona Black Face SS Submariner Date My AD has both in stock. I am having a tough time deciding between the two. I like the Ceramic Bezel and Date on the Sub. I also like the look of the Daytona and it has the exclusivity factor. Looking for some help from the TRF member's. I am far from a Rolex expert. Thanks For All Your Help And Insight. Planning on pulling the trigger in the next couple of days. |

Welcome!
Both are nice. Buy what suits you best...kinda like your member name (speed757) then I would get a Daytona. |

I just purchased a SS Sub C and absolutely love it. Nonetheless, I've been eyeing a SS Daytona for a while. I think it depends on your style. If you're a suit and tie guy, I think the Daytona is a great pick (though a Sub C with a suit is an awesome combo). But if you're a guy that wants to wear his watch everywhere, through the rough and tough, I think a Sub is the way to go. I chose the latter for many reasons, but the brushed steel look really sold me. I was never a fan of PCL.

What are you looking to do with the watch? I use a Sub during the week, Daytona on weekends.

My vote goes to the SubC. Not a big Daytona fan.

I have both. I enjoy the SS SubC for weekdays and the SS Daytona for weekends, traveling, grilling steaks, timing stuff for the heck of it. I like having something to tinker with when I'm on a long flight, road trip or whatever.

Will be my only Rolex. Sold my GMT a while back.
Tough Decision. Also can anyone tell me what are the newest serial numbers for the Sub and Daytona? I want to make sure I get the newest build. Thanks again for the opinions. |

Folks, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the new SubC serials are GXXXXXX.
Speeder, how do you intend to use the watch? Under what conditions? This may help you find the right piece. P |

Sub has the glidelock, which puts it over the top for me. I also just love the looks of the 116610

I'm a fan of having the date option so I'd probably get the SubC.

Welcome to the forum.
I think most are going to say to with the Daytona. I personally would go with the sub and did for my first Rolex. Ultimately you have to go with what feels best on your wrist and the watch that speaks to you. Good luck with your choice. Don't rush it. Have fun and post up some wrist shots on the one you choose.

Didn't think it would be that lopsided. Sounds like almost all say Sub

Daytona, since you sold your GMT, Sub is kind of the same.

Not to confuse you from original choices but of those Daytona. But I would go for Daytona White Face! Also not mentioned but take a look at Explorer II Polar 216570 , love mine, and something just a little different! Good luck, you will enjoy what ever you choose.
