Gps ?
Anyone have a GPS?
I just ordered a Garmin GPSmap 60CSX and added Mapsource City Navigator to make it more road friendly. I plan to use it in the truck and on my motorcycle. I'd even like to try geocaching. It should be delivered at the end of the week. Unfortunately I don't know if I can have it before Christmas.

I've used a marine version for 5 years or so. Accurate to 30 ft.

I've used them for flying and finding coordinates on a test range or old targets sites....
Pams Lexus has one she likes to play with all the time... It does need a more current map update.. Garmin makes a good system....one of the pioneers.. However, when I drive I take a map.... |

I've got an older Garmin Street Pilot. Updated the memory and maps to full detail. Be advised, the maps aren't always spot-on. The best benefit of having this technology is... you CAN'T get lost. Even if you miss a turn, you can get back on track without turning around and looking for the missed junction. Handy to have, distracting and frustrating sometimes, they can be a life saver and I'd endorse having one even if you don't use it for every trip.

I have the Garmin Nuvi 350 and love it. Small enough to go in the pocket when I leave the car for a bit but still has the full maps of US and Canada loaded on the hard drive. The user interface is much nicer than the ones in the Avis rentals or in my wife's Ford Escape.
I think you'll be happy with the purchase. We even use it in town sometimes so we can see which streets are coming up - easier to find the right turn at night. |

We have them in both our cars and I wouldn't buy a car without one again.
I also have a TomTom GPS program in my Treo 700wx. It's great for travelling in rental cars. We used it when we toured the National Parks in Utah last summer. Made for a lot of peace of mind.
