Newbie introduction and question

Hi,

I recently just bought 116515LN (rose Daytona on the leather strap). First off, love the watch. it took me a long time to find my next watch. I had been wearing a two tone presidential handed down from my father.

I'm 6'1", 190lbs. Not a small guy by any means but the leather strap is way too big for me. In the store she said she put it on the smallest setting and didn't have a smaller band. She said she could order one but it would take a long time. She was in a bit of a rush to sell me the watch and get me out of the store, it was pretty amazing.

Anyway, I don't know where to get another band? I'd order one offline if I could find one. Do I have to bring it to an authorized store? And is there any chance they'd have one in stock?

Thanks for the help!

That's a lot of room... What size wrists do you have?

Not to get off topic but does anyone find the leather straps on the Daytonas kind of unsubstantial? Obviously it's high quality leather but I feel like it should be thicker for a sports watch.

First Daytona without pushers I've ever seen.

Would also like to see a picture of your TT President.

Welcome.

EDIT: Sorry my mistake, I see it now.

The above quote would also be my statement & question.

If the actual leather portion of the strap comes in different lengths then I would certainly get the dealer to order one in.

By amazing you mean bad? Also, the two tone presidential; I think you mean a datejust?

That is a huge strap, or you have small wrists? I would order a smaller strap no matter how long it takes and until it arrives, wear it on an aftermarket strap.

Congratulation and wear it in good health.

I am not understanding this thread.

You bought a brand new Daytona that would not fit? Now the store says it will take a "long time" to get a smaller strap?

Not sure how to help.

Welcome and congratz on finding your "next" a true beauty.

Have to ask, what kind of a Rolex AD rushes a Ceramic Gold Daytona sale ?

I'd make an appointment to speak to the manager. In lieu of this sales persons lack of professionalism perhaps the proper sized strap could be fast tracked, no cost to you or at the very least at cost.

Just my two cents.

weird thread and why would someone buy a watch that does not fit properly? I am with Mark, call the manager ASAP and go have them get a proper strap.

Take your strap to a shoe repair shop. They work with leather and should be able to help you.

Sure, I'm new here so I should post full details.
Went to vegas a couple weeks ago, won a bunch of money, took cash to the rolex store and bought myself a new watch. I had been looking for a new one for quite some time and was in love with the ever rose daytona with the bracelet, but didn't feel right wearing it as I'm in my early 30's. This I felt was a little more subdued and still an incredible watch. So, I asked for the smaller band and she said she would order it but it will take a while. Overall, I didn't enjoy the transaction and felt rushed. She boxed the watch up and shipped it home to me. No word since on the strap. I'll be calling today, but I highly doubt she ordered a new one. So, I'm reaching out to the experts to find out if smaller straps even exist or if its up to me to find someone to either alter the band or find an aftermarket one.

The presidential is a datejust I guess. I'll post a pic of it when I get home tonight. Neither watch is a fake, but I understand the skeptics since I'm new here.

Nice choice with the daytona! It's a beautiful watch. Two weeks is not so bad, and you could get an aftermarket strap online or on eBay, it's never a bad idea to have and extra

Another suggestion is to go to ABP Paris (google it) and have them make a custom one for you. You choose the size, shape, hide, color etc. I think the quality is much greater than the OEM Daytona strap.... .02

I would have picked another AD in Vegas if she doesn't really want to provide customer service. It's your money and the sales rep needs to earn your money. There are about 7 or 8 ADs in Vegas area. Was this the store in Bellagio?

As others suggest, I would call the store and talk with the manager, also if the Rolex website has an email, I would blast that as well. Very bad service, IMO.

Nice watch, BTW.

Good luck.

Awesome looking watch. I agree, I would have went to one of the many other AD's in Vegas for the customer service.
I hope the strap gets there soon because nothing is worse than getting a new watch and not being able to wear it.
Btw, welcome to the forum
