That's really good. Thanks for posting the video. That guy is great. The theory seems so easy but imagine the years of practice it takes to get where he is.

Seems slick. And I'm sure he can speed up the process. But he has to touch your wrist with one or both hands? Think I would notice some dude holding my hand....I hope so anyway.

Pretty impressive. Make sure you have a deployment buckle on those leather straps, gentleman. That guy can take off your watch with a traditional strap while shaking your hand!

This is clearly sophistacted stuff, but you are right about the personal space. The worst is when in Southern Europe at certain places beggers come with an infant baby, start talking to you in a language you don't understand and hands you the baby. You [feel like] have no choice but to 'catch' the baby while a bunch of kids empties your pockets/bag and scatters in all different directions. Good luck fighting off that one.

The man with the watch has it on his left wrist like I do. I am right handed so I am always taken back when someone sticks their left hand at me. I never shake with my left hand.

I like the fist bump, which after seeing this would make it very difficult to undue the watch, and if you have a bracelet even more diffcult.

I had heard about the watch trick before...I had also heard that they look for people with buckle strap watches, and not bracelet-type of watches (such as a Rolex metal bracelet).

Anyone here know if that is true?

Perhaps that's just for theatrical purposes, that it's easier to do in a stage show, but still easy out on the "street."

Anyway, fascinating, especially the front pants-pocket trick.

He's good, but who would let a complete stranger that close on you?

I've never been pick pocketed.

I always carry my wallet in my front pocket in my pants, or in my inside breast pocket that's zipped or velcroed shut depending on the coat.

The guy in the video is making himself a victim, as he trusts the guy, he knows what's going to happen and that he's getting the stolen items back.

Me on the street, a random stranger walking up to me and getting so close he could reach into my pockets... If I couldn't move away from him, I'd put my hands in my pockets.

It's of course another thing doing the classic, steal of the wallet from the back pocket of a loose pair of jeans.
