My big 5 under 10G's! 3 down 2 to go!

Thought I would give a little update on my pathetic but growing collection.

I promised myself that I would stop for a few years once I reached 5. And I wouldn't go over 10 grand on any.

Just picked up the Speedmaster from a forum member who was really great to work with. I needed one. What a great watch. Its my daily now.

The Jaeger is listed over 10 but thanks to a bit of a discount it came in under the mark.

#4 is going to be a Zenith Chronomaster Open or Striking 10th. (for some flair)

The last one in the five is going to be another Rolex. I know I have asked this before but I am putting off this decision until my last because I still am having a huge problem deciding between the gmt iic or subc.

Looking at what I have so far which would fit the group better?

Any opinions on my set so far? Am I leaving anything out?

good work! I'm partial to the Sub C which would be a much cleaner (i.e. less busy) dial than those you have already and as compared to the GMT.

Great set so far! I'd say you should definitely go for the Subc. That's the one thing you don't have, a sport/dive watch. Plus, the Sub is so iconic, it should have a place in your set. Besides, you already have a GMT function with the Explorer.

I'm also a big Zenith fan, and of those two the Striking 10th would be my choice. You might also want to look at the Captain Winsor annual calendar. It too has the El Primero movement.

Another vote for the Sub C...and since all your other dials are black, go for the LVC:)

I know they are but I am VERY white and a white dial looks really strange on me. (thats why I got rid of the Capeland flyback 10006) The best I can do is the sliver dial on the Zenith. Its about as light as I can go.

Your collection is very nice. Congrats on acquiring it.

Another vote for the subC. I think it would fit in great with your collection.

I'd get a DJII into the mix and a Rose gold JLC ultra thin (used I think you could get it under 10k).

Nice collection

Would you consider a non-Ceramic Sub?

Instead of spending $40-50k on five watches, I'd prefer one grail and then a beater or two. Personally, I'd go 116718 for $25k, 116610 for $7.5k, and 116333 for $8.5k. Good luch on achieving your goal!

Those 3 look really good together.
SubC or GMTC would fit in nicely.
Ever consider either in a TT or are you sticking to SS?

What were the thoughts behind your current collection? Personal favourites?

I'd go with more iconic pieces if there was ever a limited number and budget set.

You are a chrono man. I would keep the Omega, JLC, get a Zenith and a Daytona. Job done.

4 is all you need.
