Wear Rolex Daily?
Hi guys, is it true that my rolex should be worn daily? I was planning just to wear it on weekends and not at work but because it's automatic I was told its not good for the watch to just sit and have to then start it up again when it stops because that's when problems start occurring. Is this true?
will it stop if I don't war it all week, or every few days? and yes this is all true and i should wear it daily? |

1. Rolex are meant to be worn - yes wear it daily, I wear my GMT with flip flops or a suit.
2. Nothing happens when it stops - you just need to re-set and wind. 3. I never got this "weekend" watch thing - I don't care about time during the weekend; however, time is super important during the week. Also my 8 year old thinks my timex ironman is cooler than my GMTIIc because It has more buttons. 4. The watch and I are one! Think Iron man/Tony Stark. He carries his suit everywhere.

You can wear it every day, every other day or whenever you'd like. As far as I know your Rolex will be fine

Do not worry about the mechanical considerations to weekends only being stopped on weekdays, etc. It will make no difference.
Wear it on weekends only with no fears to the watch. Of course I say wear it 7 days a week. |

No, just more crown wear

BTW I am suffering right now because I stowed away my GMTIIc to give my sub some wrist time. This thread is killing me. I think I'll get a winder myself.

Wear the watch when you want, whether it is one day a week or seven. Wind the watch when needed. Without wearing it should last about 40 hours from a full wind. Enjoy your watch.

Not wearing it permanently will do no damage to it. If you like watches, and your line of work allowing, I don't see why you should not wear it every day though.

This may sound stupid, but how do I wind it? Leaving the crown in and just twist? |

You don't need a winder with any Rolex watch with just a simple date complication only winder they need is wrist and finger action..

Just unscrew the crown till it pops out that's the winding position, wind clockwise only, 40 full crown turns will give full power reserve. On a full manual wind watch should then run between 39-48 hours while off the wrist.
