Need second opinion with ebay purchase
I am looking for help with a possible purchase of this ebay item. Item number: 181004126928.
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/AUTHENTIC-CIR...7&cmd=ViewItem The seller is haakwatch11 from Korea with only 188 feedback The serial # is 6270493 which dates it to 1979 The movement is 1570, but I thought a 1500 model should have a 1565/1575 movement. Does the serial # D651076 on the movement mean anything? The bracelet has a #78350 on it. Is this possibly a newer bracelet? Any info would be much appreciated. I am looking for a 1979 Rolex for my first purchase and hope this is the one. |

...hmmm...
...sorry that no-one else has chimed in.
...watch looks GOOD...and a nice example.. ...the 78350 band would be correct for the watch. ...this seller has an apparent GOOD reputation based on his FB and high end watches sold. ...if you like it-GO FOR IT! ...and, BTW, WELCOME to the BEST Rolex forums on the planet!!! |

Any ideas on the 1570 movement? I have only limited knowledge on Rolex. I only started doing research recently. I really want to make sure this watch is authentic.
Thanks |

Is better if has box and papers etc - hard to sell without it - unless you are a dealer with references!

Your questions:
1570 is fine, 1565 only means it has a date function, but the bridge part is the same, so Rolex used also bridges marked 1570 (in fact more often than the others). As the serial of the movement starts with D, this movement is one for a date model watch, so correct in this one. The band question was already answered by tudorman. Beware though when making your decision that a Date is only 34mm in diameter as opposed to a Datejust which is 36mm. |
