Advice Please (UK Members)

...
Advice please from UK Members. I am selling one of my watches and have been offered £4,200 by a reputable dealer for a BNIB (all seals intact) Anniversary Submariner (16610LV). It is one of the very last ones produced in 2010 on a Random Serial Number and has its box and all papers etc.

I ... would value the views of fellow UK Members on whether this looks a good deal or not or whether I should seek a higher price.

Many thanks.

I'm not an expert but I'd say it's a fair "trade" price. You might get more from a private sale, or then again you might struggle if you don't have a proven track record of selling high end watches.

He's left himself room to to sell it for profit but he's a dealer and he has to pay his bills and put food on the table.

I would say this sounds about right. Not an expert but sounds fair to me!

My advice is to read as much as you can before purchasing. Look at sales threads here, eBay auction, full retail etc. read every thread on the 16610LV, and there are a lot of them. Be your own expert

Very fair trade price IMO......

you'd easily get £4.5k and possibly even closer to £5k in a private sale but would have all the potential risks and hassles too.

I would take it to the upcoming watch & clock fair in Solihull this coming Sunday where you will get the best trade price for it from one of the many dealers there.. I would be interested myself!

12 watches like yours for sale similar to yours in the UK. Price ranges from £4,895 to £5,500.

I would try and offer it for privately sale first. Be willing to meet the person so they can inspect the watch properly.

I wouldn't be surprised if his plan was to sell it for £5,200. He will give you usual BS about it being "super rare" "rare serial number" "one of the last produced" "great investment" "future collectible".

I would not take that price. BNIB with all seals 16610LV's are not common.

Brand New in Box..... Unworn and as supplied with Rolex (preferably with all the sticky protective strips still in place on the watch and its bracelet).

Many thanks to yourself and others for this advice. Have now gone back to the dealer and received a higher offer.
