Daytona 16520 X or N
Hi All,
Some opinions please. Cant decide on which. Found two White Daytonas, an X and N series for the same price. Condition is excellent to mint on both. Bracelet on both is brushed and minimum stretch. Both comes with box, but the N has papers. I already own a Black N series, so a Black and White N series would be cool, however, the X is probably more rare. I have never seen an X for sale. So the dilemma is paper vs. an older serial. Also, is just south of 10k a decent, good, or excellent price? FYI, nothing is forever. I dont plan to sell in the short term, but that doesnt mean I wont. So, resale value is something to consider. thanks for your opinions. |

I would go with N and the papers. South of 10K is about the right price for it. I used to have an X white dial, but got rid of it and bought a pair of A serial black and white.

For sure, the one with box and original paper is a better investment

I would doubt that the X is more "rare" than the N.. They were both on the market at about the same time and it's unlikely that over this short span, Rolex had a larger quota of one serial over the other..
It may be a tough decision.. I would agree that if the "paper" is indeed original to the watch and shows original provenance, it may be the better buy in the long run.. Clearly it does not add or detract from the value as both will sell for the same price.. It has to be one of those gut decisions that you make after carefully looking each over..
