Does this happen to everyone?

I bought my Oyster Date in February.
I'm very happy with it and wear it whenever i'm not at work.
So, why have i the urge to get another one?
Is this normal?
Does this happen to everyone?
If so which one shall i get?
I quite like the look of the Exp. II

What you feel is normal. Once you start, it's hard to stop. I told my wife that the GMT II would satisfy me for a long time. Well 3 watches later, I'm still want more. It's all part of becoming a WIS. Enjoy your current watch and your watches in the future. Just don't forget to share some pics with us.

I haven't even bought mine yet...

And I'm already lusting after another. You 60+ out there with your new GMT2c's are making me jealous! Bluesy first, then SS GMT IIc?

Addiction is bad...

Um, did you notice the number of posts?

Did you notice the number of posts most of us have? As one of the members says, I say tidy, you say OCD....we tend to obsess on Rolex here.

We're WIS who are really enthralled by the Rolex brand. I can say for myself, that while the Audmars and Pateks can be thinner and perhaps more elegant, depending on your taste, Rolex provides me with a rich balance of beauty and the beast.

There are watchmakers and jewellers who say that while the Rolex movements are generally unadorned and even spurned by some as pedestrian and basic looking, Rolex designs their gear trains with such precision that the watch runs very precisely for many years. That, and the fact is, that the watch really can take a beating and yet it can still be at home in the office, boardroom, courtroom or podium. I relish that versatility, and dollar for dollar, pound for pound, its still the watch for me.

And I've spoken to jewellers who say that Rolex is overpriced and nothing special. One jeweller I knew said that Rolex was very overpirced and only moderately accurate, and that the best bang for the buck in terms of movements was Seiko's mechanicals. I'm not a jeweller, so I couldn't say.

And I'm half Swiss, so that's sort of a mitigating factor.........

I love the look of most Rolex designs, the history and the dependability of the designs. I think the 1970's National Geographic ads really worked their magic on me. I still remember them now.

Best,

Chris

I have found that wearing the watch to work provokes questions about it from customers of mine. Sometimes those questions lead to reactions from them that suggest I am making too much money .

That's not necessarily the case, but to the average person it's hard to describe the desire to own one of these watches.
