Visit To Audemars Piguet Boutique in Singaore ( Pic Heavy )
As a follow-up to my previous thread, I finally visited the AP Singapore boutique yesterday with a fellow TRFer and took some pictures, as shown in this thread. The AP brand is relatively new to me, and I was primarily there to check out the Royal Oak 15202 and 15400.
The boutique The Watches on Display Checking out the Royal Oaks I just love this bracelet! Trying out the Royal Oaks... They both looks nice. And a few ROOs.... ..... ... Nope, not for me. I simply don't have the wrist size to pull this off. My Rolex Explorer attempting to steal the show. My Two Cents... Overall an enjoyable visit. The boutique is a bit on the small side, and kind of hide in a corner. Thought AP should have chosen a better locality. But the displays are well lid. Both the Royal Oak 15400 and 15202 are masterpieces, work of art. Seeing it in person for the first time, no wonder so many WISers and members of this forum go ga-ga over them. To me, the best part of the watch is the bracelet and case. The way the light reflects over the polished surface is mesmerizing. It is no wonder this is such an iconic watch. The 15202 is even more impressive, with a very slim styling. I am however, not quite convince that it justify the steep price premium based on the thinner construction. I guess one is paying more for the exclusivity. As for the other watches, somehow I am indifferent to the ROOs. They look kind of fanciful and are certainly well made, but due to their size and styling, it is not my cup of tea. But to each his own. The staff at the boutique were exceptionally friendly. We were served coffee and drinks and offered many watches to peruse, despite not buying anything in the end. We also talked and shared about AP latest news and all thing horological. Among some of the things discussed... - Yes, the gold watches have been discounted as per another thread - The 15202 will be limited run production only - Buying from boutique directly offers a 5 years warranty versus 3 from ADs So will I buy one? That depends ... I certainly crave for the 15400, but I am still trying to get over the price, which is a lot to pay for a stainless steel watch and the AP brand, though no doubt the quality and workmanship is excellent. Not to mentioned my two recently acquired Rolex already burn a big hole in my pocket. And lastly, some brochures to bring home. Even their brochures and catalogs looks good. PS : Apology for some of the poor quality shots. I only got my older handphone with me at that time which doesn't focus very well at times. |

You can never never go wrong with the classics. be it 15300 or Jumbo. If you feel that the current Jumbo is quite pricey, settle for its predecessor. |

Ah ha! So the Singapore boutique offers the 5yr warranty also. What's up with HK then??
The Jumbo is smoking! Once you wear it for a while you'll feel better about the price. Overpriced? Maybe but oh what a watch! PS: is that FC Diver available?!?!?! |

Sounds like a nice trip to AD- I agree on the Royal Oak. They are a classics piece and I like fact that seeing them in the wild is quite rare. Good luck with your decision, you won't regret purchasing a RO ;)

I really like the new gold ROCs think I might even prefer them to the RGRC.
