No Hologram on GMT II 116713LN?

Recently purchased an GMT Master II Two-Tone, model 116713LN with a serial number beginning with "M".

Is it right that the case back is just plain steel with no hologram? Or do I have a problem. If the latter, I do have plenty of recourse time still available... ;-)

Thanks!
-Dave

Welcome to TRF.

The hologram is not used anymore. Don't worry everything is fine with your watch. Please post some pics so that we can enjoy it also.

Ah! Thanks so much for the quick reply! That's what the sales rep said, but... I saw some other pix online and started to worry. You've saved me from too much of that, so thanks!

Does the "LN" and/or the "M" indicate when this was manufactured? Is it the "latest" or is there yet a newer build available currently.

Will look to get some pix later today... Very happy with my purchase!

M is the latest series...and LN = Lunette Noir (BLACK BEZEL in French)!!

Cheers - JJ

So the letters at the 6 mark aren't the serial number?

PS - I am just going to call my GMT-IIc green arrow now, since it has the green 24hr marker.

Happy to! Wish I had a better camera here at my desk but, alas... these will have to do! ;-)

Also, noticed the limit for PNGs is WAY less than the limit for JPGs. Any reason for that?

The letter + the numbers (six in total) engraved on the chapter ring are indeed the serial number. This number is also engraved under the end piece at six o' clock and printed on the COSC certificate.

Alright, maybe I'm a dumb dumb (and maybe there's an FAQ entry I missed), but what do "chapter ring" and "end piece" mean? ;-)

No questions are dumb here!

Chapter ring = angled (on Rolex watches: satinised = matte) edge that runs along the dial.

CRB = Chapter Ring Branding = "ROLEXROLEX" (10 times!) + Serial number at six o' clock + ONE Rolex crown at 12 o' clock.

End piece (or endlink) = last piece on the bracelet that attaches directly onto the watch case.

SEL = Solid End Link
