What would you do?

A friend of mine just got this as a gift from his wife. He came up to me and said "look at the Rolex my wife just gave me". He was dead serious.

I said "very nice", as I didn't want to cause any static. It was hard for me to say this as I had thrown up in my mouth a little bit.

In a case such as this, do you tell your friend the truth, or do you just let him enjoy his "bowflex". I call it that because it has a lot of working out to do to even begin to resemble a real Rolex.

I hate these situations...

I had to see it in the flesh. I'm blind.

Already called the state for a handicap permit.

Why would you want to ruin a perfectly good blender?

Yeah it's bad, but why tell him it is terrible? If he likes it who cares.

Just because we like watches and are on an Online forum doesn't make us any authority.

If you are good friend with him better tell him the truth. He will find out in one day or another.
Maybe he will manage to take his money back.

Check out the movie: The Dilemma - see how that turns out.

WTH are some people thinking by doing such atrocities to their watches??

I don't think it's that bad for what it is, but I'd never wear it. If he likes it,n then it's a perfect watch, isn't it? We always say wear what you like, well, can we live up to it? Yes

Tell him what, if it was a Rolex I'd be happy for him.

The OP asked if "do you tell him or tell him to enjoy his bowflex".

I was saying tell him the truth...

I think that's great. After all, diamonds are a girls best friend. Is it a genuine Rolex model though? If it is, wonderful. Say's a lot about a man wearing that, much more than he can afford it. Lots of confidence to pull that off, great.

Did he get it from Vladdy on Canal street? Not my cup of tea. Just tell him very nice and move on.

Tell him the Wife really out did herself this year. Suggest he have it professionally cleaned and appraised for insurance. He will find out if it is real and if it is then he can enjoy his new real binged-out Rolex.
