Starting my hunt for a birth year 1986 Rolex GMT Master

I am very green when it comes to rolex was and I was very lucky to add to my collection my day's 1970 red sub 1680. I posted photos a while back.

Now I've got my eye on getting my very first birth year vintage which for some of you may not be that long ago and may or may not be considered vintage. However my birth year is 1986 and I would love to get my hands on one.

Before doing so (and saving up money), I want to avoid the mistake of buying something without knowing what to look for. All I know is the pepsi bezel makes me randy. But what advice can the wonderful gurus here provide me on what to look for when purchasing one? What parts should I examine? What should I see or shouldn't see?

I've looked quite a bit at chrono24 and although everyone seems to be a "trusted seller", I find the pictures to be quite inadequate and tritium lume to be far too white despite claiming to be 100% original.

Thanks in advance!

There are literally hundreds of threads on the GMT Master. For 1986 you're looking at either a 16750 GMT Master or 16760 GMT Master 2. Now go forth and read all that you can.

One thing you need to contemplate...a watch "first purchased/sold" in your birth year will most likely have a manufacture date/ serial number sequence at least the year before your birth.

You'll be looking for something like this: http://www.hqmilton.com/index.php/si...50_unpolished/

8.8 mil to 9.2 I would say.
