Glidelock clasp

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to acquire a glidelock clasp? Will Rolex install one on a 93150 bracelet? Can I buy the clasp from Rolex and trade my Filplock? Or do I go the aftermarket?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You'll have to source one yourself as Rolex won't sell or install it on a model that doesn't have it. Try asking one of our members, Puffy. Be warned... It's crazy expensive.

as stated above + if you get one and it breaks, you are on your own!

rolex will not service it as you do not have a watch that it belongs to.

the glidelock clasps have been known to break, infrequently as it may be, it will come out of your pocket.

buying a 97200 would be easier methinks - and sell on the 93150 afterward...

Thanks Mike. I was in touch with Puffy, and he can't get anymore.
I can't believe Rolex would miss out on a great source of profit from the upgrade market.

Wow expensive

...and I haven't heard of them breaking. Except for the weld...but all the newer Rolex clasps for the past 7 + years have that weld. Including DJ's Daytona etc...
The only thing I heard happened a few times in the screw backed out a little and made it very difficult to move.

Is that price for the Sub version or the DSSD version...probably even more for DSSD version.

I did see a post here within the last few months that someone sourced one and put on older style Sub

I based my suggestion on work I read about on TRF when Nathan put a 97200 on an M s/n 16610 back in 2011. Take a look here: http://rolexforums.com/showthread.ph...74#post2965774

Is your 14060 that much different in the case lug hole positioning from a 16610?

Yes it works on the 16610 but the 14060/14060M won't take any of the SEL bracelets without modifications to the bracelet endlinks.

love the glidelock clasp one of the best upgrades rolex has came up with.....dont know how to get one aftermarket, I would bite the bullet and buy a watch that came with it already
DSSD or subC I think are the only 2 models but don't quote me on that

Yes - not a "bolt-on". But he was going to mod the 93150 anyway, right?

Just a wild guess: it might just be that Rolex doesn't want to discourage the purchase of new models in any way. A buyer may delay the purchase of a new watch if s/he simply upgrades his/her current watch with the newer model's (improved) parts.

i did that and it's an easy swap

see here

i'm not back to the 93150 as the glidelock was too long and heavy in the long run

It is a great mod, that is for sure! My 93250 has been on the sidelines collecting dust for a long time!!!! My only regret, I should have bought more when I had the chance! :-)

Don't overlook the GMTc/Daytona bracelet or even clasp as a worthwhile mod, though very tough to source as well!

...for sale if you need. Was going to post it in the FS section this weekend. PM if interested.

The Rolex glidelock clasp is a work of modern horological genius
