New vs old. Thoughts please.
I think I have my next narrowed down between two models. The 1st is a GMT ll c and the second is a 16760 'fat lady'. I will be wearing it in rotation with my current subc. Is there any drawback to wearing a 30 yr old watch regularly other than if the dial is original the lume is shot?
Also, did the 16760 come on a jubilee bracelet? From what I have been able to research it seems it did but I never see one for sale with it. |

I'd go fat lady...the subc and gmt 2 c are similar. If you were going all gold or TT I would say go GMT2C..

Jubilee was an option. Try to source a super jubilee with the hidden clasp.

Get the Fat Lady! Mine came with a jubilee (switched it out for an oyster). The original jubilee was not the hidden clasp, however - just the single foldover type. Once serviced, vintage makes a GREAT daily wearer!

If I eventually get another watch, it's going to be another Rolex, and it would have to be much different from my current Sub. The GMT MII is just too similar. My vote would be an older Pepsi, second place goes to the Coke.

Fat Lady on a Jubilee would be cool.

Part of the reason I like the 16760 is because it only came in coke. Not a Pepsi fan.

No drawbacks at all. The 16760 may need to hit the spa, but it will be good as new.
Good luck! |

You are debating between two of my favorites. However despite what others say, they are very different from an aesthetic and weight perspective. Had both side by side in Vegas a couple months ago. Love the Fat Lady but it is not that much more substantial in feel compared to the other GMTs before and after (until the II C). Plus I don't like the bracelet nearly as much. Felt flimsy and cheap in comparison. If I did go Fat Lady I would source a Pepsi bezel to go with the original Coke and I would only want a jubilee or super to go with.
