Day Date dial choice...

Want to see what the consensus is on which dial you all would choose for my yellow gold 118238. I currently have the white stick dial on it, but also have the choice of the original silver 8 + 2 diamond dial that I can go back to....

Thoughts?

Silver diamond doesn't look half bad!

But, for me, it would be the white dial (extra bonus that it's the stick version). The YG is already enough flash for me.

The diamond dial does look nice, but for personal wear I'd go for the white stick option.

Dislike sticks and diamonds (like sticks and stones).

White with gold Roman.

I should say that I agree with this, too...it is the combo I chose when I wore RG President. Very classic.

White with gold Roman. I know it was not an option presented, but I think it's the classiest overall. I am not a fan of diamonds in my watch.

X100

I don't know why, but diamonds on a Rolex always makes it look like a fake to me.

Assuming you don't have the tools to switch the dial out on a whim, I'd say the diamonds are definitely more elegant, and the sticks slightly more understated. Do you need/want understated on a YG Rolex?

With those hands, the lumed baton dial is better.

If you switch to diamond dial, perhaps source some gold hands and switch them too. That way it would look more like this borrowed pic - and better match?

Understated and gold Rolex? Didn't think those words went together. :)

I do like the white better though.

The only thing I "don't like" about my DD is the lack of lume as I tend to sleep with my watch on and wake up several times during the night. Specially during my first hours of sleep. As such, I look at the time to know how far into my sleep I am. The lack of lume on my DD has been an issue for me. I could turn on the phone but the the LED screen messes with my sleep.
