16610 vs 16610LV

Which one do you prefer?

Anyone got bored with the green bezel?

Do you think the maxi dial/green bezel is worth the upgrade?

Would you consider this an upgrade?

personal choice i know but almost 1.5-2k difference...

The cool part about the LV is the maxi dial and the option to change the insert if you get bored of the green.

The only upgrade is the price as they are both just normal 16610 subs except for the maxi dial slightly wider hands .And now very expensive to change green insert, but IMHO that's mainly down to the Internet LV hype and people trying to make 16610 black into a 16610 green insert watches.

I went with the LV, best of old school meets new school imo. My plan was to change to a black bezel asap but the touch of green stayed.

After many years of wearing standard black Submariners I like the different look of the LV. Don't know if I'd consider it an up grade since it's only cosmetic, and for me personally it was worth the extra $$.

For me personally I like those differences that come with the 16610LV. The Maxi Dial and the Green insert. The Maxi dial does make a big difference for me. The option to change the insert was nice, and I even purchased the black insert which has never been used.

The good thing for me was I was able to purchase mine before they stopped making them, so there was no upcharge per say.

Only you can determine if it's worth paying more for you at this time or not.

LV. The 16610 is too common for me to ever want one.

Well it's on my list of "wants" not "needs" so I like em a lot. Consider selling my 16610 for it, but love my lug holes

I just sold my 16610, and I believe that I would rather get the 16610 LV next time. I think the newer bracelet and the maxi dial is worth the extra money.

Think he's referring to the C LV with new glide lock clasp.

16610lv and a 114060 will be the ultimate. But if only one is the option I would choose the LV

I own the 16610 and looking back I wish I went LV. I also tend to prefer the less traditional models. I was a relatively newcomer to Rolex when I got my Submariner. Stick with the 16610 if you want a classic, timeless piece, maybe go LV if you are looking to maybe build a collection.

Go with the LV. You can always switch out the green bezel for black to change it up. Maxi dial is a little easier to read too. Would be much harder to source a green bezel for a 16610 then it would be to source a black bezel for a 16610LV.

I am a big LV fan for many reasons.

The biggest one being that it stands out in a room full of black 16610s. You will make a statement with this unique look and let's face it...a splash of color never hurt anyone!

Short story, it was produced to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Submariner, which first shocked, and forever changed the world of horology in 1963. The Sub, like many Rolex pieces has got to be the most copied watch in the UNIVERSE. To prove this point, I got a smack in the face this morning with this DLC beauty:

LV with a black bezel would be my choice.

I prefer the 16610 with the LV insert.
Not a fan of the maxi hands.

Best of both worlds would be a 16800 maxi with the LV hence the reason I did that. Matte dial, old style font datewheel and LV insert.

Maxi Dial - Same size dial but the plots (hour markers) and hands are a bit bigger.
