If I've been wearing a GMT for the past couple years and thinking about buying a Panerai to replace, what size is similar? 40mm, 44mm?? And I'm really liking the white face models.

The last Rolex I owned before buying my PAM 422 was a SS GMTIIC. Helluva great watch. I regret trading it although i love my 422.

The GMT is 40mm. You don't mention your wrist size but with Panerai, most of the popular models are 44-47. Assuming you can handle that size, I suggest no smaller than 44. And if you really like the white faced models, buy pre-owned or you will take a bath. They are by far the least popular and their resale is weak. Go into a Panerai AD or boutique and try a few on. good luck.

I second Advocatia's comment about white dials. If you buy one, be sure you get a very substantial discount, as it will be hard to sell. As for size, I'm a petite woman with a 6.3" wrist, and I wear 44mm Luminors. Even if you have a small wrist, 44mm will wear nicely. Panerai are great watches!

I don't know about "by far the least popular", as I can think of many black faces that probably are harder to flip than a 113. But, yeah, buy right if you think it might not be a keeper.

Then again, that's good advice for any watch purchase.

The best advice is to buy what you like, full stop.
