Purchasing on Amazon.com?
I have received a bonus paid as an amazon.com "balance", and was thinking of purchasing an Explorer I. (Normally, I would seek out a deal from an established hobbyist, but that's not an option here.) The main sellers seem to be GoldwatchCo and Jomashop.
Is there anything to choose between them? Thanks! |

The only thing I have heard about purchasing anything through amazon.com is that you don't get a warranty card with your Rolex. There was actually a watch I was interested in purchasing from a trusted seller here and came to know it did not have a warranty card. Then I questioned that and he told me Rolex purchased through amazon don't come with warranty cards.

Seems like companies that sell through Amazon are higher priced than the sales corners on most watch forums or the trusted dealers but still cheaper than ADs. I've also heard that some of them don't actually have the watch in question in inventory at the time of sale.

Thank you! Both sellers are upfront with the fact that their watches lack Rolex warranty cards; something I'd prefer to have, obviously, but given my constraints I'll have to accept its lack.
And I agree that the prices are higher than trusted sellers on fora; I wouldn't be looking at Amazon if I didn't have this pesky balance to use! ;) |

I'm not affiliated with them or anything just been down to there store and they will give you a good deal . I know of other rolex dealers in Miami that I can recommend you where I get some watches when I don't get them thru my pawn shop they are also in Miami message me for any additional info

30-days return policy
Any trusted dealers here have the same return policy?

Out of curiosity, why don't they / can't they provide a warranty card if it's a new watch?

Jomashop is a Grey Dealer of new and Grey Market watches do not come with a valid warranty, so a card is moot and they may just not provide it.. The other may be used.. Used watches frequently do not come with a filled out card as part of Privacy Laws... Giving somebody personal information without permission, even if it is in the form of a filled out card, can be a crime that many businesses simply do not want to get involved with..

I bought my friend a Cartier from Amazon which came from Jomashop. It did not come with a card. It is real however, I know that without the proper paperwork that Cartier will not give it any sort of warranty.
Yes, I saved $1500 over the AD price at the Cartier store...but what about if there is a problem. It could cost in the long run...so I don't know if I would do it again. Lee

All the rolexes i own dont have papers etc . From the dealers that i buy the customers that sell them usually dont have papers etc or have misplaced them. All those watches have to be process thru a pawn slip or a buy with finger print and checked if not stolen thru the police department from what i know

Isn't it kind of unusual to get a bonus in the form of an Amazon balance?
The one thing about Amazon given my experience is that they will go to bat for you against any third-party seller who tries some hanky-panky. Jomashop has been around for a long time and I've never heard anything bad about their business practices. The other one, I have no knowledge of.

I've purchased a few watches from Jomashop. They are grey market watches. Usually nothing wrong with them, but they only carry their own warranty (which I haven't had to test).

The reasons why Joma and some other high volume sellers of BNIB Rolexes do not provide the warranty card is to protect their sources. The cards are blank with regard to the buyer's name (since it is a new watch), but the card has the AD's name on it.
Too much exposure there can bring down the Rolex hammer on that AD for "wholesaling". So the wise AD does not pass the card along to Joma, etc. On sales of pre-owned there is no "privacy law" since the original owner is voluntarily disclosing his/her name when passing that card on to the seller like Joma or Goldwatchco. If the original owner wants privacy then they have the option to keep that piece of plastic or paper. More often, the inventory is acquired in multiple watch lots without boxes or cards, etc. The seller then matches the watch with the era appropriate collateral for offer to the public.

Happens in our industry too with distributors wholesaling clothing to Costco & Sam's since a lot of the higher end clothing manufacturers won't sell to them because of the hefty discounts. |

How did you end to with such a high balance to only be used on amazon?

Google Jomashop about warranty issues. I have bought low cost watches from them in the past but I would not recommend investing all this money in to a timepiece w/o warranty.
Just spend your balance on something you can resell on ebay and use the money to purchase your Rolex from an AD or a TRF member. |

typically watches don't "break" within the first 2 years (warranty work) but i'd still hesitate when spending thousands on a watch just in case especially because Rolex costs too much just even getting a simple service.
I do have a quick jomashop review as I have purchased stuff there before. I've bought 2 watches from jomashop. A Movado (almost 10 years ago) and a Tag (about 5 years ago) 1. Movado, I had to wait over 2 months to receive the watch I originally wanted because they did not have it in stock. Also price (according to the manager that called me) was stated wrong on the website so they offered to take off some money but I still ended up paying more than what I saw on their website. 2. Tag, I bought to wear casually so I did not bother checking the watch carefully which was my mistake. It didn't matter in the end because it was just a casual watch that matched only certain type of clothes (dial was orange) but about half year later after I purchased the watch I realized that stopwatch hand did not align properly when reset. Both watches, though, were genuine (both checked during battery change). eitherway, good luck with your search. |
