Any TRF member invested in a fancy mattress ?

Hastens (picture) ?
A local dealer is a good friend of mine and can get me a cool 30% off but then I think about what kind of super bicycle I could get for that money and so I procastinate once again...
Fancy mattresses anyone ? Hastens ? Simmons Constellation ?
I'm currently sleeping on a Sealy Posturepedic Tentation, great mattress, nothing extremely fancy but does the job great

I just told my wife, "well if we're getting a new bed, we're getting a Hästens".... Until I saw the price tag of the one I wanted.... 10.000 euro. Maybe not. I'm an easy sleeper, I could sleep on a floor.

My experience with Tempur : unbearably hot in summer and you won't be able to sleep on any other mattress (Hotels, friends house). Also I've had some very badly stiff lower back for a whole time I've used it.

My experience with Tempur : unbearably hot in summer/[QUOTE]

They are hot, period. And cold. Tempurpedic traps body heat when it's warm, or when someone's warm. I think they're incredibly well marketed and a product for some people but not me.

What I swear by is a latex foam mattress. And the good news is, they're not all that expensive. Most comfortable thing ever, supportive with give. All the virtues.

I've had a tempur for about 4 years and I'm reasonably happy with it.

My body has an awful lot of "city-miles" on it due to the nature of my work. I can sleep anywhere but I do find I'm less stiff in the mornings thanks to the tempur. The only problem I've found with it is that it's starting to dip in the middle but after 4 years I guess that's not bad.

We have a Tempurpedic cloud adjustable king and love it!! We had a problem with the heat at first but got acclimated after a few weeks and it is perfect for my wife and I. We also sleep in the zero gravity position with feet and head elevated and it has saved my back and neck. Also before this I used to wake up multiple times during night and that is no longer a problem. So for us it couldn't get any better and a great investment for sure. Cheers,

I bought a cheap ($200) firm mattress 10+ years ago, super comfy, I've never had any problems. I've trialed some expensive mattresses over the years and didn't feel any improvement so my el cheapo stays! (I'm a person that could sleep on the floor so an expensive mattress is wasted on me).

We have a tempurpedic and love it. I have personally never noticed being any hotter than I have with any other mattress (and yes it gets hot here!). Although it can be pretty hard if your house is cold!

Stearns and Foster. I was against it, my wife insisted. Perhaps the single best material investment I have ever made, remember being put off the price at the time. But, I get a good night's sleep year-round. YMMV!

We've got this Tempurpedic model too.

It's easily the most comfortable I've ever slept on.

Will spoil you for most other matresses.

It sure does! Too bad I can't take it with me when I am on the road.

Last summer I bought a Sleep Number mattress by Select Comfort. I wouldn't consider it a "high end" mattress, but rather a competitively priced mid level unit.
After owning it now for about 9 months I will say I am very satisfied. My previous back pain is gone and once I found my "sleep number" (60) I have enjoyed many, many great nights of sleep.

General point..you spend 1/3 of your life sleeping. Don't scrimp on a box spring and mattress. Find a set that really works for you. Would spend on that prior to a premium watch, in the grand scheme of things!

We bought a high-end Stearns and Foster pillow top box spring and mattress. The top mattress is huge, heavy and regular queen sheets don't fit. After about two years, we started rolling toward the center, as the edges of the mattress are rigid. It is now in a guest room. I am very disappointed with it.

I got a Temperpedic Rhapsody about two months after I was diagnosed with RA. Made all the difference in the world in the way my body felt while in bed. I absolutely love the bed!! I have a weekend home that I need to buy one for, but every time I get a few extra bucks I go find another Rolex to buy instead of getting the adjustable Temperpedic for the lake house.....

The sacrifices we make for this crazy addiction we love so much.

Anyway, I strongly recommend this bed.

The Hastens should be the Rolls Royce of the mattress I always heard
But I noticed that Andreas posted that they cost € 10 K that's about $ 13 K . . . so I hope they are good . . .

We bought a Sleep Number bed a few years back. Wonderful bed. All my sleeping aches and pains went away. And, it does not dip in the middle. It is well worth it. I paid between $3,000 and $4,000. Not sure. My sleep number is 40.

Just checked their website

That's a lot less than the Hastens
