Deep Sea or Daytona
With oversized watches being so popular and I already have a few in my collection, when purchasing a new Rolex should I continue with this trend and buy the Deep Sea or do I buy the Daytona that I have always wanted? I tried the Daytona this weekend at Mayors Jewelry and I found it to be on the small side. I love all the intricate details of the watch and how the sapphire crystal pops up a little. Really nice classic look about it! Will the oversized trend continue? What do you guys think? Thanks,

I buy what appeals to me, and I have watches ranging from a 36mm Rolex to a 47mm Panerai. I don't care what is "trending." I am not allowed out with a fork or without supervision so I don't have any exposure to much of society in gerneral.

I always loved the Daytona until I tried it on.
I got the DSSD and have not looked back. By far my favorite watch currently. |

Buy the one you want. The oversized watch trend is dying a slow, painful death

Just my .02, take it for what it is worth.
I have several large pieces in my collection. I have been working out/eating better and losing weight. My wrist has gone from 7 1/4 to 6 7/8 and now several of the large pieces are way too large and I am looking to sell them. My new Daytona fits me just right.

I love both , buy both.
Or if you have to pick : if you love bigger watch : DSSD for sure, if size dont matter : Daytona. |

Get whatever you like best.
It's funny that you talk about the trends. I actually started with larger watches and decided that I prefer smaller sized dials. To be honest anything is ok as long as there is no lug hangover the wrist |

Your collection seems to have dive watches/lg watches covered leaving the Daytona as the obvious choice.
On the other hand if you like the DSSD go for it and who cares about trends, buy what you love regardless of size. |

I'd say Daytona and the DSSD are all the watches you need! I personally prefer the DSSD over the Daytona.

I always wanted a Daytona, but bought the DeepSea.
Try the Daytona on first, very small by modern watch standards. Also, I was afraid the bezel on the Daytona would be a scratch magnet! DeepSea has better wrist presence, and I thought it would be more durable - love the ceramic bezel. |

Deep sea is nice but huge and looks just like a sub or gmt etc to the rest of the world |

I think it depends on your frame and wrist size as to which watch looks best. That said, everyone has different preferences. Watches are getting slightly larger because most people like them larger. There are still tons that prefer smaller watches. You need to look inside yourself to determine what you like. I found my sweet spot, which is 39-42mm.

Go with the Daytona. Looks like you could use a chronograph in your collection.

Daytona. You have always wanted it and it will add a chronograph to your collection. I have a POC 9300 and Pam 321 which are large watches. When I got the daytona last week it seemed small at first because I was so used to the big ones. In reality it is the most comfortable watch I own and very classic looking after having so many large sport models. It should not take a year to get these days. I called an AD in a small city I grew up in and they had a black one in the system I got. They shipped it no tax.

Call around, there's no need to wait for one in the UK any more. My AD in Norway is sitting on a white faced one right now and expecting a couple more in soon. They are not the rarity that they once were. |

Tough choice, both are so different. I have both and I bought my DSSD first then the Daytona. Think I wear my DSSD more but Daytona definitely gets wrist time.

Owned both, Daytona is nice but the thrill is in the chase and I always end up selling, the DSSD would be my choice.

I don't c a chrono in your collection. They're sweet! The size might not seem that small once you've worn it for a while.
