I really missed my Explorer I 39mm

Looking at my Rolex, thinking if the GMT IIc should go since it has the least wrist time.

What are the thoughts here? thanks..

I don't have one and never have.dont get me wrong it is a beautiful watch but I generally like watches with less complications.i like simple things.if you are contemplating getting rid of it then go with your gut.

I owned a TT GMT IIc but ended selling it....nothing against it....just didn't excite me the way Subs do.

My SS GMT IIc gets more wrist time then my TT GMT IIc. It's a perfect everyday watch and dresses up nice too.

My Dad wears a TT GMT IIc and the TT just falls so perfectly into place for the GMT.

Had both SS and TT in the GMT IIc.....sold them both.
didnt like the case design.....too blocky for me.

Bought a Polar Exp 2 42...never been happier...

I own GMT IIc and love wearing it. It is the most comfortable Rolex I ever owned. I have bought/sold many other pieces, but GMT stays with me.

The only thing I did was to brush the PCL to make it a true tool watch. The hairline scratches did not go well with me. Now I love it. Plan on keeping it for good.

I generally dislike TT watches. The GMTII is the exception.

If it came with BCL's I would of bought it over the Sub simply because it's an extra function and "rarer" than the Sub.

I know it's a very simple modification but modding my first Rolex wouldn't feel right.

What does what we have to say have to do with it ? If you aren't wearing the watch then you clearly aren't a fan yourself.

Be careful of the grass is greener syndrome though. You may buy that 39mm Exp and it will get just as little wrist time. You could also start "really missing" your GMT.

I totally agree. But when I had my Exp1 39, my GMT IIc also got less wrist time as well

I am the other way round. I wear my 116613LB more than my GMT IIc, and to think I am not a true fan of TT.

I personally love the GMTII in all its variations. My problem is I own a 16610 which aesthetics alone is very similar to the GMT and I own a 216570 which is functionally very similar to the GMT. This had made purchasing one hard to justify. I think if someone is getting their first Rolex the GMT is the only way to go but that is my opinion alone. I am going to see if Basel reveals anything new in this range and make my decision to purchase one sooner or later based on that. I also feel that the GMT is one of Rolex's best looking models in precious metals.

The GMT is maybe my favorite model in the Rolex lineup. Having said that, if you don't wear yours, aren't particularly attached to keeping it, and either need the money or want to use it on something else, then sell it.

Life's too short and it's a lot of money to have tied up in something that just sits in a drawer.

I have the Sub and the GMT2C. I wear the Sub more often but it doesn't mean I love it more than the GMT2C. They are both great pieces.
